Sony is a multi-national conglomerate corporation, one of the world’s largest media conglomerates.

From the tape player to the Walkman to OLED TV. When Sony wanted to go global with its products in the mid-1950s, it looked for a new name.

In 1960, Sony launched its U.S. branch. Eight years later, Sony opened a branch in the United Kingdom. The company continued to grow in the 1970s, when it expanded into Spain and France in 1973. German operations were started in 1986.

Sony Corporation is the electronics business unit and controls the Sony Group.

There are five operating segments – electronics, games, entertainment (motion pictures and music), financial services and other.

Sony's principal business operations include Sony Corporation (Sony Electronics in the U.S.), Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sony Computer Entertainment, Sony Music Entertainment, Sony Ericsson, and Sony Financial.

FIFA

FIFA is the international governing body of football. They are responsible for the organization and governance of football's major international tournaments, most importantly the FIFA World Cup, held since 1930. FIFA's Sponsors include CocaCola, Emirates, Hyundai, Sony, VISA, Adidas.

Sony Corp. signed its first global sponsorship deal as FIFA's partner from 2007-2014. One of the biggest wins out of this deal is that Sony will broadcast up to 25 matches of next years World Cup soccer tournament in 3D. THe deal utilizes Sony's 3D technologies and will make 3D World Cup action available to viewers for the first time. Sony agreed to this deal as this utilizes Sony's 3D technologies and premier products to show dazzling content which produces a unique and totally compelling viewing experience.

In turn, FIFA benefits through this as it propels the football fan into a whole new viewing dimension and marks the dawning of a new era in the broadcasting of sport.

• This collaboration allows Sony to further develop the trend towards convergence of digital devices: creating ideal opportunities of synergy between FIFA and Sony thus enhancing Sony Corp’s content businesses, such as it’s music and television properties. Sony will also advise FIFA in the technical development of TV and broadcast equipment for future FIFA Events.

Fox is a broadcasting company which is owned by fox entertainment group. It is also part of Rupert Murdoch's New's Coporation, so he owns Fox. It has subsidiaries such as Fox Kids, Fox News, Fox Sports, Fox Asia, 20th Century Fox and more.

Sony and Fox made a content deal with each other, which benefits both of them because they both help each other as Sony helps Fox to gain more viewers through 3D technology which means more advertisements of Sony are being viewed more which also means more profits.
