Stand Up! Stand Up for Jesus!

Stand up! stand up for Jesus! Ye soldiers of the cross;Lift high His royal banner, It must not suffer loss.From victory unto victory, His army shall he lead,

Till every foe is vanquished, And Christ is Lord indeed.

Hymnal #618

Stand up! stand up for Jesus! The trumpet call obey;Forth to the mighty conflict, In this His glorious day.

Ye that are His now serve Him Against unnumbered foes;Let courage rise with danger, And strength to strength

oppose.

Stand up! stand up for Jesus! Stand in His strength alone;The arm of flesh will fail you; Ye dare not trust your own.

Put on the gospel armor, And, watching unto prayer,Where duty calls, or danger, Be never wanting there.

Stand up! stand up for Jesus! The strife will not be long;This day the noise of battle, The next the victor's song.

To him that overcometh, A crown of life shall be;He with the King of Glory Shall reign eternally.

I Surrender All

All to Jesus I surrender,All to Him I freely give;

I will ever love and trust Him,In His presence daily live;

Refrain:I surrender all,I surrender all;

All to Thee, my blessed Savior,I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;Humbly at His feet I bow,

Worldly pleasures all forsaken;Take me, Jesus, take me now.

Refrain:I surrender all,I surrender all;

All to Thee, my blessed Savior,I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;

Let me feel the Holy Spirit,Truly know that Thou art mine.

Refrain:I surrender all,I surrender all;

All to Thee, my blessed Savior,I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;Now I feel the sacred flame.Oh, the joy of full salvation!Glory, glory to His Name!

Refrain:I surrender all,I surrender all;

All to Thee, my blessed Savior,I surrender all.

Case StudyXYZ University Accreditation

Mike Ryan

Page 27: Song Service G Christo, V Krupskyi, S Maphosa, M Perez Schulz, S Serena.

Case Study: XYZ AccreditationThe XYZ Adventist University was noted for its high

academic standards and strong commitment to excellence. The school had been accredited by the national accrediting body for five years. When the General Conference education department approached the university through the division indicating that the university should have accreditation by the Adventist Accrediting Association (AAA) as required by policy, the president was most unhappy. The university held first-rate endorsement from the government as a premier university in the country. The president did not see the need of having church accreditation. He said, “National accreditation supersedes church accreditation. National accreditation is primary, AAA accreditation is incidental.”

Case Study: XYZ AccreditationUnder pressure to abide by policy, the president finally

relented and allowed a AAA visit. The university was awarded a 5-year accreditation by AAA. Five years later when the accreditation expired, a AAA team again made preparation for a visit to the university. This time the president refused AAA permission to visit his campus. He said, “AAA does not understand our context. Last time they came, they recommended an increase in the percentage of Adventist teachers in the university and this made our non-Adventist employees feel unappreciated. We are state-accredited. We see no need to have more Adventist teachers. Besides that, they said we had to teach Bible courses to all majors. That’s not how it is done in this country—that is imposing American educational standards on us. It would make our education longer and more expensive compared to other schools and we would lose students.”
