Belt conveyor


1. Introduction

Sidewall belt conveyor is continuous transportingequipment of loose bulk materials such as coke,coal, limestone, sand and gravel. It adopts highquality conveyor belt with corrugated sidewall andhorizontal baffle. Sidewall belts are used to conveymaterial up inclines. The sidewall increases thecarrying capacity of the belt and prevents productfrom falling off the edges of the belt. Hotvulcanization provides a 5x greater adhesionbetween the belt and sidewall, eliminating theneed for bolting the sidewall to the base belt.Greater adhesion also prevents the sidewall fromlifting and separating from the base belt,extending the belt life.

1) Increases the transmission angle (30 to 90 degrees).2) Small footprint, low investment.3) Throughput, a high degree of upgrading higher.4) To tilt from horizontal (or vertical) to a smooth transition.5) Easy transportation of powdery, granular, small block, paste and liquid-like materials.6) And low consumption, simple structure, belt high strength, long service life.7) The belt conveyor components: conveyor belt, driven device, motorized pulley,transmission pulley, turnabout pulley, conveyor roller, tension device, sweeper, discharge device,reversible belt conveyor with hopper, braking device, frame, head hopper, head cover, feedchannel.

8. Components of Rotary Vibrating Screen

Belt

Belt is used for moving and supporting surfaceon which the conveyed material rides. It is thetractive element. The type of belt used need todepend on the nature of materials to betransported.

IdlerIdlers are the supports for the carrying andreturn stands of the belt.

DriveDrive that imparts power to one or morepulleys to move the belt and its loads.

StructureStructure is the support and maintains thealignments of the idlers and pulleys. Besides, italso supports the driving machinery.

Pulley

Drive pulley is normally fixed after installationand requires no adjustment. For mostapplication, the pulley face is crowned andrubber lagged. However, on some large belts,due to the type of tensile and cross-stabilizingmembers, it is not advisable to crown thepulley as damage may result to the base belt.

Tail pulley is normally preferred that the pulleyface is crowned and can be rubber lagged. (Inlarger belts as per the drive pulley this may notbe the case, if in double please check). The tailpulley is also the tensioning drum, tensionnormally being applied via screw adjusters. As aguide the maximum stretch of a belt will be1.5%.

Check: The belt edges, Sidewalls, Cleats and the belt splice need to be checked on aperiodic basis for wear or separation. Any minor areas of damage should be repaired assoon as is possible.
