mother Earth and no our deeds will harm Her in any ways.
In other words, this is the orientation towards sustainable life-style, celebration, any acts and deeds
which eventually will obviously percolate in the designs and architectural developments in all respects
that are expected to carry forward on the shoulders of todays’ young generations.

Ganapati Celebration is the peculiarity of Pune’ culture. But along with the celebration and ritual parts, the awareness of environment, the healthy and eco-friendly approach are the key aspects and need of the today’s world. Based on the theme and materials chosen, fine final products came out as innovative ideas from these young, energetic and enthusiastic students. And the celebration-cum-competition was ended into one of the sweet memories of the year… both for the students and for the faculty as well!

Deewali-Festival Celebration
Before Diwali Vacation

The celebration was divided into 4 layers and 4 groups of students overlapping each other and forming final product.

First was Killa making with stones, bricks, clay and cloth pieces with final touch-up of green algae and gray Rangoli.
Second was colorful Rangoli to display 100 year completion with pride.
Third was Panati-Deeyas making and painting. Initial though students were encouraged to make Deeyas, finally to cover the quantity, it was bought from traditional potter’s lane. Then students painted those Deeyas in colorful fashion.
Forth was making houses to show settlement at the bottom as per original pattern of any Killa and lanterns from color papers threads etc.
Combining these 4 activities ended into the cheerful celebration, full of cultural soul and bonding with the tradition. It created the pride of being part of one of the oldest
esteemed institutes from Pune in students and staff members also.
