The Emirate of Sharjah is the third largest emirate of the United Arab Emirates, and the cultural capital of the Arab World as declared by the UNESCO in 1998. It is located between Dubai and Ajman. Sharjah is 10 kilometers away from Dubai and 176 kilometers away from Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
Sharjah is known for its strength as the industrial backbone of the UAE, 40% of the total number of industries in the UAE are based in Sharjah. The majority of these industries are petrochemicals, textiles, leather, food and basic non-metal industries.

The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) was established in 2013, meeting the need for this city of culture to have an independent organization for literature, reading and publishing.SBA encourages continuous learning, investment in intellectual industries, translation and sharing knowledge.
SBA is now responsible for managing significant cultural projects, such as the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF), Sharjah Public Libraries and Sharjah Publishing City, a free zone set to become the centre for the publishing industry.

New Incorporation: Free Zone Establishment (FZE) / Free Zone Company (FZC)
Free Zone Establishment (FZE) is a single share holder limited liability companyFree Zone Company (FZC) is a multi (Maximum of 5) share holder limited liability company
Important aspects of an FZE / FZC� Not only individuals but companies can also incorporate FZE/FZCs in Sharjah Publishing City� The Registration/Incorporation charge is AED 9,000 (US$ 2,450)� FZE / FZC's, like branches of local / foreign companies will have to get a Free Zone License after incorporation/Regis-
tration� The minimum share capital for FZE/ FZC is AED 50,000 (US$ 13,612). This will not be blocked, but can be used for
business. Office based projects are exempted from this requirement� No share may be transferred without prior written approval of SPC� Financial Years shall be from January to December each year. However, the first year shall commence on the date of
Incorporation.
Incorporation Procedure� An FZE / FZC application (contains format of Memorandum also) needs to be submitted with documents� On Approval of the Project for which the FZE/FZC is proposed to be incorporated, SPC will issue a letter to a UAE
bank of the Investor's choice to open an account in the name of the FZE/FZC and to deposit the minimum capital.� On production of bank's letter for receiving the minimum capital in the new FZE/FZC bank account, SPC will issue a
FZE / FZC Certificate of Incorporation, License etc. after signing the agreement and making payments� The Investor can start withdrawing the amount for his business on submission of original certificate of Incorporation
to the bank subject to their rules and procedures
Minimum Legal Requirements� Free Zone Establishments (FZE) / Free Zone Company (FZC) should abide by the FZE / FZC Implementing rules and
regulations� SPC FZE/FZC Implementing Rules and Regulations are equivalent to the Articles of Association of such FZE/FZC� FZE/FZE should submit its audited financial statement to Sharjah Publishing City every year within 3 months from the
end of the financial year
� There should be at least 2 Directors and a Secretary for FZE / FZCs� At least one of the directors and the secretary must be residents� The offices of director and secretary may be held jointly by a single person
