Hindi Day celebrated at Shaikh Central School, Nehru Nagar,
Belgaum
Shaikh Central School celebrated Hindi Day. In this context, the
school inaugurated Hindi Pakhwad. The function was organized to
create awareness among the students about the importance of Hindi
language with a Guest Lecture and variety of programmes such as
dance, singing and drama. The chief guest for the function was Dr.
Kiran S Patil, Principal, B.D.Jatti College of Education,
Belgaum.
After inaugurating the event by lighting the traditional lamp,
chief guest Dr. Kiran Patil addressed the gathering. During his
speech, he said that Hindi connect all the people from different
states and creates oneness among the people. Addressing the
gathering he said that Hindi is the second most widely spoken
language in the world. He highlighted on the history of Hindi
language, the dialect upon which standard Hindi language is based.
He said that Indian constitution in the year 1950 declared Hindi as
an official language of Government of India. He further recalled
the critical role played by Hindi during the period of freedom
struggle and as a link language for the widest reach of programmes
in the post-independence period.
He also made a fervent appeal for increased use of Hindi
language and encouraged students to speak in Hindi language and
gain proficiency in at least one Indian language in addition to
ones mother tongue.
The students of Shaikh Central School presented drama and dance
on the theme National Integration. The event saw the participation
of entire SCES faculty & staff which concluded with vote of
thanks proposed by Ms. Sahebi.
TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATIONSThe Teachers' Day was celebrated with
enthusiasm and zeal at Shaikh Central School, Nehru Nagar, Belgaum.
All the teachers of the school were honored by the principal of the
school, for their commitment and dedication to the cause of
education. She urged them to lead a healthy and disciplined life
and create a healthy environment. The principal of the school put
more emphasis on moral and ethical values, which she expected the
students to follow.The event began with garlanding the photo of Dr.
Radha Krishna as a mark of respect.
On this occasion students gave speech on importance of teachers
day. Students were given an opportunity to share their suggestions
with all the staff and students of the school. It helped in
building confidence level of students and removing their barriers
to speak on stage.
School staff used this opportunity to promote cultural
activities and cultivate this talent in the students. Students were
given opportunity to present their talent in the form of poem, song
and dance.
At the end School administrator Mr. Bhaskar Ankalgi appreciated
the effort done by students and motivated them to continue
exhibiting their creativity. He also appreciated the efforts done
by teachers to improve the academic and non-academic performance of
the student.
Shaikh Central School students excel in Zonal level Departmental
Sports 2014-15.
The students of Shaikh Central School excelled in Zonal level
departmental sports 2014-15 which were held at C.P.E.D ground, club
road, Belgaum. The students won prizes in various activities as
mentioned below:Rehan Kakti won 1st Prize in High Jump. He also
bagged 2nd place in long jump. Ziyad Shaikhsurab won 3rd prize in
Hurdles.
The management, faculty and staff of Shaikh group of institution
congratulate the students for bringing laurels to the
institutions.
Shaikh College of Education organized Citizenship Training
Camp
Shaikh College of Education organized Citizenship Training Camp
at Abu campus, Bhootramanhatti. The dignitaries for the function
were Chief Guest, Dr. S.C Kamte, Principal, Shaikh College of
Engineering & Technology, Belgaum. Dr M.J Attar, Chief
Coordinator, Shaikh Group of Institution presided over the
function.
The function began with prayer song followed by the traditional
lamp lighting ceremony. Mrs. I.P Sutar, Principal, Shaikh College
of Education welcomed the gathering. Addressing the gathering chief
guest Dr. S.C Kamte, Principal, Shaikh College of Engineering &
Technology said Every child deserves quality education and an
opportunity for success and it must be the prime duty of all the
teachers. He encouraged teacher trainees to obtain training in new
technologies and teaching strategies. He also spoke about how the
teachers must adapt their teaching style to match maturity and
level of exposure of the students.
Mr. Mohammed Hussain explained the teacher trainees about
meaning of personality, methods of developing it and barriers of
personality development, and how it can be dealt with. Dr. M.J
Attar, Chief Coordinator, Shaikh Group of Institution spoke about
the values and discipline the teachers should carry in their entire
carrier. He advised the teacher trainees to learn dignity of labor,
co-operation and leadership in this particular camp. Prof. S.K
Ghodewale explained the objective of the camp.
The entire staff and students of Shaikh College of Education
were present at the event. The event concluded with vote of thanks

SGIs Belgaum Institute of Management Studies organized Web
Designing Competition
BCA Department of Belgaum Institute of Management Studies
organized a Web Designing Competition at Shaikh Campus, Nehru
Nagar, Belgaum. The chief guest for the event was Miss. Roopavali
Sakri, Principal of BIMS.It was a unique paper presentation in
which students explained different areas of web design which
includes web graphic design, interface design, authoring, including
standardized code and priority of software. The students were given
different topics like Resorts booking, college website, Parle
Sellers website, Vehicle customization website, RCU website
etc.Websites design offers a unique way to communicate a message
about your business or a unique selling point of the products
offered. A websites can be designed to meet the needs of your
target of customer.
The Competition Web Design was appealing to all the students and
could discover hidden talent within the students. More than 100
Students witnessed the event. The winners were felicitated by
Principal & faculty. The event ended with the vote of thanks
proposed by Miss. Nida Kittur from B.C.A V Sem.
Tech Rangoli Competition organized by Belgaum Institute of
Management Studies, Nehru Nagar, BelgaumBCA Department of Belgaum
Institute of Management Studies organized Tech Rangoli Competition
in which the students had to showcase their creativity, teamwork by
designing the logo of a company by rangoli. This unique competition
helped the students to understand the purpose of designing the logo
for the company which reflects the USP of the business in a
visually appealing way.The students were also given an opportunity
to present various topics such as Steps to maintain relations with
society through social networking websites; the Advantages of
Antivirus and identify potential threats on the computer or network
etc.
Totally 14 teams participated in the competition out of whom the
first place was secured by Ms.Adilamidhat, Mr. Basit Chabuksawar,
Mr.Ismail Dadwad, Mr.Ahrazahemed Garagfor and Mr.Mohammed Numan
Patel for the topic Intel. Second place was secured by Ms.Aliya
Nadaf, Ms. Nilofer Pachapuri, Ms. Bibiayesha Herekar and Ms.Nidha
Kittur for the topic Skype. Third place was shared by two team i.e.
Mr.Imanhussain Buddhal, Ms.Sonali Suryavanshi, Ms.Nayana Surpurkar,
and Ms.Shruti Math for the topic Microsoft. Ms.Najama Gadamphalli,
Ms.Anam Killedar, Ms.Ayesha Mirajannavar, Ms.Gulzarbano Naro for
topic Linux.
The winners were felicitated by Principal, Belgaum Institute of
Management Studies. The event ended with the vote of thanks
proposed by Miss. Nidha Kitturr of BCA 5th Semester.
SGIs Belgaum Institute of Management Studies students excel in
Street soccer (Football tournament 2014)The students of Belgaum
institute of Management studies participated and won the Street
Soccer Foot Ball Tournament 2014 which was organized at KLS Gogte
College of Commerce, Belgaum. The entire tournament comprised of 5
rounds. Total 40 teams had participated in the tournament.
There were 6 participants from BIMS Mr.Shanawaz Patel (captain),
Mr.Aarish Sayyed (vice captain),Md.Salim Makandar ,Mr.Faisal
Jamadar,Mr.Saeed Attar and Mr.Taha sheikh. In the final match
against Angadi College of Engineering & Technolog, BIMS won by
3 goals. Mr. Md.Salim Makandar was awarded as highest scorer which
5 goals in the entire tournament.
In Boys singles Mr.Aquib Murgod secured first place, Mr.
Shanawaz Patel secured second place. In boys doubles first place
was secured by Mr.Zeefan S and second place was secured by Mr
Shanawaz Patel

WORLD OZONE DAY CELEBRATED AT SHAIKH PRE-UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF
SCIENCE COMMERCE & ARTS
Shaikh Pre-University College of Science, Commerce & Arts
celebrated world ozone day. The event was organized with great zeal
and enthusiasm at Shaikh Campus, Nehru Nagar, Belgaum. The program
focused on creating awareness about the importance of the ozone
layer and the awareness of ozone depletion substances.
Addressing the gathering Mr. A.V Jadhav, Senior Faculty said
Earth without ozone is like a house without roof. He also said
protecting nature is our primary duty. Ozone depletion will impact
environment adversely affecting the life cycle of plants which
leads to the disruption of food chain as well as animal life. He
said in order to avoid destruction it is our duty to take
preventive measure in protecting our Earth. Mr. A.D Nimbalkar
speaking to the students said that everyone must involve in
activities such as tree planting, backyard gardening etc. He said
using fertilizers which are eco-friendly and maintaining of
vehicles to prevent excess smoke will reduce the air pollution. He
said that World Ozone Day provides an opportunity for individuals
worldwide to reflect on the progress that has been made with
regards to the protection of the ozone layer, and it serves as a
reminder to decision-makers and the general public, of the need to
protect this valuable shield that safeguards the earth and in the
long-run, our lives.The entire event was organized by the students
of Shaikh PU College. Mrs.Sujata Nirgatti, Principal, Shaikh PU
College and all the staff members were present on this occasion.

Bagban. SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AT SHAIKH COLLEGE OF DIPLOMA
ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY
Shaikh College of Engineering & Technology (Diploma) in
association with Fun First Global Skill Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai organized
skill development program on air conditioning for the students. The
program was organized for 15 days in which the students were
trained in basic electrical, basic physics, tools for installing
air conditioner etc. The resource person was Mr. Ajeet Sobalkar
from Mumbai who explained the practical aspects.
The entire program was organized to help educate the students
about air conditioning, energy efficiency and sustainability within
the industry.
Students got an opportunity to develop skills and understand the
related and technical information associated with air conditioning.
Students could also develop and practice skills for servicing,
repairing, installing, and sizing air conditioning equipment. More
than 50 students participated in the program. The entire 15 days
program concluded with written examination organized by the
resource person.
Block Teaching Program organized by Shaikh College of
EducationShaikh College of Education organized Block Teaching
Program in various schools for the teacher trainees. The main
objective of this program was to encourage trainees to develop a
reflective approach of teaching and how to reflect on teaching
processes. Shaikh College of education visited various schools like
Pandit Nehru High School, Bashiban Girls High School, Begum Latifa
High School, Al-Ameen High School etc. The teacher trainees
experienced being a teacher and tried out different teaching
techniques and procedures. Teacher Trainees were given the
opportunity to try the art of teaching before actually getting into
the real world of the teaching profession.
To exhibit the talent of the students the teacher trainees also
conducted unit test and various other activities like singing,
elocution, essay, drawing etc. The respondents indicated that they
applied the knowledge they had acquired during the specific subject
and studies to plan, prepare and present the lessons. They
acknowledged the importance of positive reinforcement and of
creating a favorable environment for learning. They also conducted
valedictory at the end of the session and distributed attractive
prizes who won in different competitions.Guest Lecture on Placement
Preparations organized at Shaikh College of Engineering &

organized Guest Lecture on better preparation for campus placements
at Abu Campus. The Guest Speaker on this occasion was Er Sameer
Bhaldar, Tata Consultancy Services, Bangalore. He interacted with
all the final year BE students of Shaikh College of Engineering
& Technology. Addressing the gathering Mr. Sameer, talked about
the current demand for young graduates. He said that the talent and
skills should not be restricted only to the domain area knowledge
but one should also be a multi-tasked and should be familiar with
working in virtual teams. Mr. Sameer also mentioned about the
competencies that companies look for in the interviewees.
Intellectual horsepower, positive attitude, practical approach were
some of the qualities, those were most highlighted. Passion for
technology and negotiation & conflict management were also
given equal preference.The function was presided by Prof Suresh D.
Mane Placement Officer of Shaikh College of Engg & Tech,
Belgaum. In his presidential address he advised the students to do
SWOT analysis and choose careers carefully. He advised the students
to make best use of the resources at their disposal, study well and
come up in life. He wished the students all success in their future
endeavors and highlighted the placement opportunities.Er Sameer
Bhaldar gave an overview of placements. He gave the four fold
mantra for placement preparation viz. the Aspiration, Attitude,
Skill Sets and Introspection He gave the overall scenario of the
job market and gave valuable tips for students on how to improve
personality and make ourselves employable. He dealt on the new
technical softwares which are upcomming and have huge placement
opportunities. The interaction with the students led to further
discussions on the subject. It was a very crucial session for the
students because of the coming up campus placements further this
year.The event concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Prof
Ayesha Shaikh. The event was attended by all the students, staff

speaker on this occasion was Dr. Dinesh Chauhan, world renowned
Homoeopath, who has been recently honored with Mahatma Gandhi
Pravasi Samman at Global Achievers conclave 2014 at South
Africa.
Addressing to the gathering he spoke about his pioneering work
Case Witnessing Process [CWP], a completely scientific,
human-centric, and reproducible. The lecture was organized for the
entire students and staff of A.M Shaikh Homoeopathic Medical
College, Hospital & P.G Research Centre to take opportunity to
know more about Homoeopathic practices. He also emphasized on
various other topics like: Essence of homoeopathic practice,
Concept of case witnessing process, Holistic medicine, Elements of
Holism & Individualization in Homoeopathic practice, Hahnemann
classical Homoeopathy & Modern classical Homoeopathy etc. He
concluded his lecture by giving examples of two cases that were
treated at TIA and Germinal cell carcinoma.The lecture was attended
by large number of faculty, PG students, Interns of A.M.Shaikh
Homoeopathic Medical College, Belgaum & Homoeopathic
practitioners from different parts of the state. The event
