Designing revision podcastsOpen to: Year 11 studentsNumber required:8Responsible to: Miss Whiffin

You will be responsible for designing a revision podcast that can be used by other students. You will be able to work with another student. This will really benefit your own revision.

Teacher of Study Skills

Open to: Year 10 and 11 studentsNumber required:8Responsible to: Mrs Key

You will work together to plan study skills sessions of 15 minutes. You will then deliver them together to year 7 tutor groups during tutor time.

Revision MentorOpen to: Year 11 studentsNumber required:5 in each core subject –

English, maths and science

Responsible to: Mrs Key

You need to be working at A grade in your chosen subject. You will be given a revision guide and a mentee and will support them with their revision. This will take place at tutor time twice a week. This will help your own understanding as well.

Assembly Team

Open to: All year groupsNumber required:5 in Years 7 and 8 and 5 in years 9-11Responsible to: Mrs Mathew and Mr

StewartYou will work as a team to plan and deliver one assembly a term to your Key Stage. This will really help your public speaking skills.

Peer MentorsOpen to: Year 9 - 11Number required:12Responsible to: Mrs Mathew and Mr StewartYou will support other students that may be having difficulty and liaise with Student Support Officers. This role will really help your listening skills, communication skills and patience.If you are already a peer mentor you need to apply to let us know you want to continue.

Transition Mentors

Open to: Year 8Number required:16Responsible to: Mrs MerryYou will support students from year 6 who are transferring to Seaford Head. You will improve your presentation skills, team work and develop your own confidence.All places are full for this year

Learning Team

Open to: Year 7-11Number required:15Responsible to: Mr ThomasYou will help teachers in the school by discussing what makes excellent teaching and learning and feeding back your ideas to staff groups. You may accompany a teacher to observe lessons.

Charity Student Council

Open to: Year 7-11Number required:10Responsible to: Mr Stewart and Mrs

MathewYou will make decisions about which charities the school will support and plan fund raising events. You will set up links with charities and host any visitors from these charities that visit the school.

Hospitality TeamOpen to: Year 7-11Number required:20 (4 from each year

group)Responsible to: Your Director of

Learning and Student Services OfficerYou will work together to show visitors around the school and assist with school evenings such as Open Evening, Parents’ Evenings and Awards Evening. You will gain confidence and communication skills.

Careers AmbassadorsOpen to: Year 7-11Number required:10 (2 from each tutor

group)Responsible to: Mrs LewisYou will work together with our Careers Advisor, Mrs Lewis, to keep your tutor group up to date with careers information. This will help you gain skills of negotiation, discussion, communication, team work and public speaking. These positions are already full for this year.

Sports Leaders

Open to: Year 7-11Number required:UnlimitedResponsible to: Mrs StarkinsYou will work together to organise and lead the running of school and community sports events. You will gain confidence, team work, organisation and leadership skills.

Tutor Group RepresentativesOpen to: Year 7-11Number required:10 (2 from each Tutor

Group)Responsible to: Your Director of

Learning and Student Services Officer

This position will be voted on by your Tutor Group in September. The role is to support students by raising student issues and making the school a better place for everyone. DO NOT APPLY NOW.

Senior StudentsOpen to: Year 11Number required:Head Girl and Head Boy

Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl

Responsible to: Mrs Golds

You will be a role model to other students and represent the school at various events throughout the year. You will meet with visitors to the school and help staff shape the future of the school.

What we expect from you?You will need to be prepared to

meet at lunchtimes, after school or through tutor period depending on your role.

How should you apply?Apply by a letter of application of no more than

one side of A4It should tell us which position(s) you are

applying for, why you want the positions and what you think you will get out of it.

The letter needs to be handed in to Student Services Office by 12 noon on Friday 5th July.

You may apply for up to 3 positions.Some positions may require an interviewA copy of this presentation is on the school

website in the Student Zone under Student Leadership Opportunities. Paper copies can be picked up from Student Services.
