A Sales Promotion is an activity in the retail business aimed at:

Buy a shirt at a discount of 20%

Sales Promotions can be definedfor:

Defining a Sales Promotion - Promotional schemes

Prefix & Code:Identify the defined promotion.

Default value is system generatedbut can be configured tomanually provide a value.

Sales Promotion Code/description:




Copy from: To copy a salespromotion defined previouslyfor use/changes

Import from File:Allows userto import the sales promotiondefinition details from anExcel/CSV file

Description: Enter thedescription of the Scheme/Offer.

For example: Monsoon Josh




Validity: Select the period ofvalidity of the scheme

The options allow the user toselect items for the schemewhich can be defined based on:

The items can also be loadedfrom a text file. Selected itemsare displayed in the grid. The

user can include/exclude itemsduring selection. Items selectioncan be based on classifications,such as Style, Size, etc.

Discount entered in termsof: A grid to enter thediscount details. For e.g., fora Percentage/Amount discount

type, enter the discountpercentage or amount andmax discounts allowed.

Important Configurations

Modes of applying sales promotion in billing:

There are two modes to configure the application of sales promotion inbilling as per business requirements,

o Auto Mode: The appropriate scheme is applied automatically byShoper 9 to the items in the bill.

o Manual Mode:A flexible way for the user to select the appropriatescheme as per business requirements.

Free Items Mandatory in Billing:

A choice provided to the user to include/exclude FREE items in bill.

Auto Generate Sales Promotion Code:

A choice to select the method of generating code for the sales promotion,which can be automatic or manual numbering.

A case of application of salespromo scheme in billing

o Buy Shirts of Brand X,Get 15% discount on

each Shirt (FixedDiscount)

In the billing screen the fixeddiscount is selected by

default and cannot be editedby the user

Discount)

A variable discount can beedited to the maximumlimit allowed in the billing

Limitations of the feature in Shoper 9

Sales Promotions defined in Shoper 9 have certain limitations.

Using Shoper 9, a user will not be able to define, a free scheme at BillLevel (Bill Level Offer) like:

o Buy goods worth Rs. 5,000/-, Get a Travel Bag Free
