Welcome to the 2021 Shiloh Cattle Company “Trendsetter” Bull & Replacement Heifer Sale.

2020 was definitely a year for the record books. Despite all the hardships, both financially and emotionally, that many of us encountered during the recent world health crisis, we sincerely hope

all of our family, friends and customers, both inside and outside of the agriculture industry have managed to endure and even succeed during these trying times.

However, we were not surprised to see many of our fellow Ranchers and Farmers in the beef industry persevere despite the challenges of 2020. It is not an easy lifestyle we have chosen and as cattle producers,

we are definitely used to enduring hard times. There were many positive aspects to the past year as well. For the most part, the weather during calving was fairly mild, resulting in favourable conditions and

minimal calf losses. As well, at least in our part of the province, we had an above average rainfall after seeding and before haying season, enabling us to have some of the most prosperous hay, green feed and

grain crops we have had in many years. With most cattle shows and events cancelled during the year, we found ourselves able to catch up on many projects around the ranch. We were also encouraged this fall by the strength of the cattle prices, both in the slaughter and seed stock market. This was very encouraging and kept a strong degree of optimism in the cattle industry as we headed into the new year.This year, our sale pen of bulls and replacement heifers runs stronger and deeper than ever. We believe this group of offspring come from some of the best genetics available in North America and are on the leading edge for performance, soundness, structural correctness, calving ease and disposition. We have always paid extremely close attention to foot structure, udder structure and disposition in our females and bulls, and have currently adopted the Canadian Angus Association’s scoring charts for these important qualities. All of the bulls and heifers in this year’s sale have been individually scored according to these guidelines, and it will reflect in their EPDs. We believe in a feeding program that reflects longevity in our cattle program. Our cows are expected to develop naturally, under typical ranching conditions. They forage on natural pasture during the Summer months and are fed a hay/greenfeed/straw mix during the winter months. Calves are expected to develop naturally on their mothers and are never creep fed. The bulls have been fed a hay/greenfeed/straw mix as well as a 15% protein pellet ration, based on 1% of their body weight to promote a natural rate of development. The replacement heifers have been fed a greenfeed/straw mix along with a 15% pellet ration, and all sale animals have been pail fed by hand, ensuring a controlled feeding program with maximum contact to produce calm, heathy cattle. As well, the entire herd is on the Sweetpro mineral supplement program year round, a whole herd health program that promotes many benefits, including healthier foot structure, a healthier rumen, higher fertility and faster breed back.Sale day is Saturday, March 27th at the ranch. All of the bulls and heifers will be on display just outside the barn that morning, but please feel free to contact us anytime to come by and view the sale cattle prior to sale day. We would be more than happy to show you around. Sale day viewing begins at 10:00 AM, with the sale beginning at 12:30 PM. There will be hospitality on offer before and after the sale, with lunch being served from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM.

Lots 38 and 39 are from the same crossbred commercial program that all of our commercial replacement heifers come from. Just like the replacement heifers, they are our top cut, as we do not keep any crossbred replacement breeding stock here at Shiloh. These bulls were weaned on September 26th and put on a chopped Hay/Green feed Ration and protein pellet , based on 1.5 % of body weight. Just like our Purebred Breeding Program, we do not push our breeding stock here at Shiloh, understanding that these bulls need to be able to go from our ranch, straight out to pasture and still be able to perform throughout breeding season, and for seasons to come.

individual consigners. Settlement prior to any cattle released.As soon as an animal is sold, it becomes the responsibility of the purchaser. Any animal remaining at Shiloh Cattle Company must be Insured. Livestock coverage will be available from the clerk’s desk on sale day.

2. CERTIFICATE AND REGISTRY: Certificate of registry dually transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each registered animal after complete and full payment has been made.

3. IDENTIFICATION: Each animal will carry a CCIA digital frequency tag as well as a ear tag.4. BREEDERS GUARANTEE: All cattle are sound and right to sell with a responsible breeder guarantee of satisfaction. In the

event of an unlikely dispute, the regular terms and conditions standard with the Canadian Aberdeen Angus Association shall apply. Any complaints regarding fertility of any animal in the sale shall be directed to the breeder. No incidental expense such as feed, veterinarian charges, interest, etc., will be charged by either party.Under no circumstances shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price paid for the bull.
