Sirca International SpA was founded in the late seventies, and started doing business as a manufacturer of complete automation and pneumatic regulation systems.Our flagship product is rotating pneumatic quarter-turn actuators which are compact, lightweight and highly reliable.
Subsequently, our company entered the Italian market with the production and sale of rubber-seated butterfly valves, double eccentric butterfly valves, ball valves and check valves.In time at Sirca International we began marketing and producing accessories to actuate, control and regulate valves. These were installed on our own valves and actuators in order to offer our customers complete “assemblies” that are capable of meeting the most varied system requirements.
Beginning in the 1990s, our company began looking at foreign markets and in a short time we started exporting more than 60% of our production.This type of market development requires continuous product innovation as well as continuous effort to maintain product competitiveness and quality.With this motivation and these objectives, with the arrival of the new millenium we at Sirca International began designing and producing the triple eccentric butterfly valve metal-seated that are currently top of the range of the valves produced at Sirca.

The Trunnion ball valve is recommended for any pressure class and its safe sealing can grant a high performance.
In theTrunnion design configuration, the ball is supported by bearing plates, held in position by the valve closures.
This configuration allows to discharge any side loads on the valve body, enabling a smoother operation of the ball, minimizing the operating torque and reducing seat seal wear.
The operation of the valve is always on-off with 90° movement.
This configuration makes the valve suitable for handling by means of actuators.
The manual operation involves the use of levers or gears depending on the torques of the valve.
Independent floating spring loaded seats are always in contact with the ball to provide an effective tight seal.
Trunnion Ball Valves Introduction
Standard technical features
With the single piston effect design, there is an automatic body cavity release of over pressure to the line through the down stream seat.
The double piston effect design (available on request), maintains the sealing capacity of the valve even in the case of failure of the up stream seats.
Body cavity over pressure in this case can be released through a relief valve to atmosphere.
The tightness is assured by the piston effect acting on the seat, pressing it against the ball, once the valve is pressurized.
Pre-loading springs ensure the start-up of the valve.
It is also possible to provide the “metal-to-metal” ball seat seal, suitable for high temperatures and not filtered raw fluids, which otherwise, would damage the soft seats.

Piston effect principle (both applicable for all range)

STANDARD SINGLE PISTON EFFECT
In the standard design of Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves, each seat ring performs the “Single Piston” action. In this case the pressure acting on the external side of the seat ring pushes it against the ball while the pressure acting on the internal side of the seat rings pushes it away from the ball.
OPTIONAL DOUBLE PISTON EFFECT
On request the seat rings design may be modified to perform the “Double Piston Effect” action. In this case the pressure acting on both the external and internal side of the seat rings, results in a force pushing it against the ball, therefore each seat ring grants the required tightness even if the pressure is applied in the body cavity.
Therefore, while both seat-rings grant the required tightness, when the pressure is applied on their external side, they are defined “Self Relieving”, allowing any over pressure acting in the body cavity to be discharged in the line as soon as the force caused by the pressure overcomes the one provided by the springs.
This features assures dead-tight sealing simultaneously on both sides of the ball and in order to release any possible over-pressure which develops the body cavity it is necessary to use an external safety relief valve.
