You Dig It?Rocks are all around us. Due to the large variety of rocks present in our world they are classified into three major categories; sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous.

Your TaskGather information on the three types of rocks; sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous. In your rock journal be sure to include the following:

-A brief description of each classification

-Provide an example with a drawing -The location of the rocks within the particular classification

-In teams of two, dig through the the sites provided and uncover the dirt behind the 3 classification of rocks. -Collect information on the three types of rocks as well as examples of each. -Individually, pick one classification of rocks and create a “Rockin’ Rock” poster displaying the information gathered.

The poster must include the following:-3 examples of rocks that fit that classification-a picture of a rock within that classification-a definition of the classification

-Share the poster with your partner in the previous task and then pick one poster to share with the class as a whole.
