Defining A RobotA robot is a programmable piece of machinery that has some artificial intelligence, that can be sent to do tasks in lieu of a real person. An example of this is the Foster-Miller TALON. This robot is sent to take retrieve wounded or wound the enemy.

a robot?• A simple machine is an object that does actions that are programmed into it. It can not learn from mistakes

• A robot is a machine that can be programmed to do various things it can also learn from mistakes

Types of robots• The are several types of robots which include:

• Humanoid robots• Military robots• Industrial robots• Mobile robots• Educational robots and many more.

Military Robots• Military robots are more technical robots that can detec weaponry, detect terrain and fight and kill people in lieu of humans. These robots can be very small but very effective. An example of a military robot is the Foster-Miller TALON.

robot.•It is powerful, durable and lightweight.•The TALON can navigate through any terrain, under water and through day or night.•The TALON’s communications, security, defense and rescue abilities are amazing.

• It’s underwater navigation enables underwater combat.

• The TALON can take a hit and still operate fully.

• The TALON only weighs 45 kilograms and is able to go into combat at any time.

• The TALON has many changeable weapons mountable to the hull.

History of the talon•The TALON was used in the September 11 search and rescue project. It is said to have saved at least 10 lives.•It is currently being used in the Iraq war and has become an admirable asset for the US.

Conclusion

• We think that the robot will be fighting all of our future wars with little help from man. It may also help the sick and wounded when men have to fight. Robots may also be able to be our servants and do our chores for us and could also be our friends.
