About Lori Holt of Bee in my BonnetI’m a small town farm girl who spent her childhood playing in the sunshine on tractors and climbing trees. I grew up happily immersed in all things domestic. I’m the middle child of a large family and live closely surrounded by grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
My mom says that I was practically born with a needle in my hand. My earliest memories are of sitting underneath the quilting frames and threading needles for my grandma and great aunts until I eventually grew old enough to make
stitches of my own. As a girl, I spent many happy hours designing and sewing clothes for my dolls, crocheting, and doing embroidery. My deep love of all needle art comes from the early influence of my mother and grandmothers, who were my first teachers. Now I teach others to create, and I find joy in using my creativity to make beautiful things. I draw inspiration for my designs from the beauty of the earth and from the love of God and family memories. I am drawn to stacks of colorful fabrics, pretty papers, aprons, buttons, embroidery, old dishes, gingham & polka dots, sprinkles and glitter, and all things vintage. I am married to my best friend and childhood sweetheart, and together we have 3 creative, intelligent children and a sweet granddaughter. Life is good! I sew, draw, create, decorate, and re-decorate on a daily basis. I think of myself as the luckiest girl in the world because I get to do what I love everyday. I feel blessed to have my own company called, “Bee in my Bonnet,” which I began in 1994. My wish is that my designs in both patterns and fabric will inspire others to create and will also instill the desire to pass down the valuable lessons of days gone by taught to us by our mothers and grandmothers.

BLOOM Sew Simple Shapesby Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet
This is a seam guide that temporarily adheres to the bed of any sewing machine. Made sturdy with see through plastic for easy placement. Lori designed her Seams Sew Easy for use as an accurate ¼” seam and especially for use when constructing her blocks which use the easy corner triangle method. This saves time by not having to mark lines on your fabric when sew-ing half square triangles, flying geese or snow balls too! The center circle of the guide is also marked with ½” grid lines for other sewing such as hemming or wider seam allowances. These grid lines also help to ensure correct placement when adhering to your sewing machine bed.
1. Needle-Align needle with center of dot.
2. Cut and Save-Cut plastic out by starting in the cut out circle and cut on dotted line. Save cut-out for future reference.
3. Stick-it-Place a stick-it on 4 of the petals and adhere to your sewing machine base. COMES IN 4 HAPPY COLORS!
Lori has created 24 fun shapes for an endless variety of designs using your appliqué method of choice; by hand, by machine or iron on.
Made of sturdy plastic. They have center marks and are see through for fussy cutting.

About It’s Sew Emma My quilt journey began about 11 years ago. Honestly, when I began, I knew nothing about quilting and very little about sewing.
It’s Sew Emma® began as a dream for Kimberly Jolly. As the owner of a successful online business, she has seen and used hundreds of quilt patterns over the years. Some are great, and some could be better. She began creating many exclusive designs and block of the month programs for her store which generated wonderful feedback from quilters. This started the momentum for launching her pattern company. In 2011, she gathered a team of creative friends, and It’s Sew Emma became a reality.
Who is Emma?So who is the little redhead in our logo? For us, quilting is about creating things to be cherished by friends and family. This is especially true for Kimberly, mother of four children. Emma is her eldest and a natural choice as a huge inspiration for our work. Emma is a sweet, spunky adorable girl with a wild imagination, lots to say, and a bundle of little brothers to care for (a.k.a. boss around). She is growing up surrounded by quilts made with love, and she likes to “sew” side by side with Mom in their sewing room. Her current favorite things are preschool, Fancy Nancy and pink sparkly shoes.
The It’s Sew Emma TeamKimberly JollyKimberly is the fearless leader of It’s Sew Emma®. With a million ideas in her head, she designs, writes, creates samples, proofs patterns, and tucks the babies in for the night - all in the time it takes some people to blink. Did you just blink?
Jocelyn UengJocelyn is a key ingredient in the It’s Sew Emma creative sauce. On top of designing for It’s Sew Emma®, she takes care of the website and other elements that need a special touch. In fact, you just might be reading her work right now...
Sarah PriceSarah is our pattern stylist; she takes them from good to great. Like any well written pattern, they are pretty, easy to read and follow because of her clear layouts, instructions and diagrams. Thanks to her, they’ve got the looks and the brains.
Nova BirchfieldNova is the newest addition to our fabulous team. She is our technical writer, making sure all the T’s are crossed and I’s dotted, that our cut lines are solid and our sew lines dashed, and that everything we do comes out in tip top shape.
Pellon® Flex-Foam™ is a lightweight sew-in stabilizer consisting of a layer of foam sandwiched between two layers of soft fabric. It is excellent for use in crafts, accessories, and home décor projects for an elegant finished look. It can be used in place of or in addition to other stabilizers. Flex-Foam is a breeze to sew through and adds shape and body to projects such as computer cases, eyeglass cases, purses, tote bags, cup holders, diaper bags, and more! It is compatible with a wide variety of fabrics. Let your imagination run wild!
