Stars of the Week. This week and last week Thank you children, for your amazing Attitude, Conduct and Effort. You’re all ACE!

Football Tournament

RLA sent a Year 4 team to the

inaugural ‘Jimmy Armfield’

Football Tournament. The

event , fittingly held at the new

Armfield Academy, was

extremely well attended with fifteen local schools and one

team from the Manchester United foundation turning out to

honour the BFC legend. The RLA team performed

magnificently and showed an improvement as the tournament

progressed. Their teamwork, positional play and

understanding of the game was a joy to watch. Out of their

seven games, they managed to win 5, draw 1 and lose 1, a

magnificent effort. Unfortunately this was just not enough to

win the group and qualify for the final, finishing a close

second. A massive well done to all players for their

outstanding efforts and thank you to the parents who

supported the team.

Year 5

As part of their 'Bake it' topic,

this week , Year 5 have been

learning about bread and yeast.

With help from the experts at

Pizza Express, the children learnt how to knead and

toss dough the ‘Italian ‘ way to create the perfect

base. They explored different ingredients and

sampled cheeses, olives, onions and mushrooms,

choosing tasty toppings to add to their perfect pizza.

Once their pizza’s had been cooked to perfection, our

Junior Pizzaiolos were able to take their delicious

creations home. Many thanks to Pizza Express .

Year 4

Nursery Classes

Our Nursery Classes had a great time at the

zoo. They walked with the lemurs, heard the

lions roar and watched the baby gorilla

having a ride on its mummy’s back. The giraffes were so tall

and the elephants were enormous. The sea lion show was

funny too! The dinosaurs were immense and some had huge

teeth. Thank goodness they weren't

real!

On the journey back to school the

children were very tired but excited to

talk about everything they had seen.
