Pure wine is a symbol of God’s Word “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” (Isa.55:1)

Adulterated wine (wine of fornication) is a mixture of God’s Word & human thinking

Who are the merchants of the earth?

Gr.”emporos” one on a journey, whether by sea or by land, esp. for trade, a merchant as opposed to a retailer or petty tradesman

They were literal merchants made rich through the extravagant operations of the papacy

and they were merchants in a spiritual sense trading in the ‘souls of men’ – the clergy of the Roman Catholic Church
