implementation of activities under ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ Campaign all over the country.
As per the Ministry Office Order (vide letter F.No.8-67/2016-EE(Vol.1) Dated 25th Sept.,
2017) Shri Tashi Wangdi, Director, MoEF&CC had been assigned to visit Mizoram and

In accordance with the Ministry’s order, on 2nd Oct., 2017 cleanliness campaign with the

around 39% of solid wastes generated are degradable that can put into use. The current waste
collection system-PPT mode implemented by Aizawl Municipal Corporation is convenient but
open burning of waste still practiced at Tuirial needs to be stopped as this causes health and other
problems to humans, nearby forest and streams/rivers,” he said.
He also highlighted features of Swachhta Hi Seva campaign and some of the
achievements under Swachh Bharat Mission. “Mizoram is a progressive State. You should all
step forward and join hands to achieve the maximum in executing the aims of Swachh Bharat
Mission i.e. to accomplish various goals and fulfill vision and mission of ‘Clean India’ by 2019.”
he added.
