PROPOSITIONAL SYSTEMWhat goes into

generating a truepropositional system?

What conditions or tendencies of the human mind make it more susceptible to falsepropositional systems?

How can I deal with data and truth in a way that does not result in the negative aspects of being

captive to a propositional system?

Page 4: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

Page 5: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

“DISPENSATIONLISM” is a controversial term because of people who misunderstand it and misuse it on both side.

As a part of speech or place in the language, it serves as slur or a pejorative. When people are subject to limbic system hijack to be against something, they hurl labels around as a means of

expressing emotional disapproval while not having the skill or knowledge to critique something in a specific or substantive

way.

The use of labels as a slur is an emotional outburst without a legitimate cause for opposition.

Page 6: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

“DISPENSATIONLISM” is NOT A SET OF BELIEFS OR

PROPOSITIONS. It is a set of provocations or

reminders which are designed to raise awareness of the reader of the textual context and situation

within a narrative and the metanarrative.

Page 8: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

Dispensationalism is the RESULT of three things:1. Interpreting scripture literally using the inductive method2. Noticing narrative transitions in the text of scripture3. Striving to create a taxonomy of transitions

So, the challenge is, how to we obtain these results while avoiding a label that side-tracks mentally inept people who erroneously think it’s something to be opposed, but while also differentiating from professing dispensationalists who have confused the methodology for a set of propositions that are to be believed?

Page 9: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

Since “dispensationalism” has succumbed to bad branding and misuse, we are going drop the label and define our own methodology and terminology. Most important, IT IS NOT A SET OF BELIEFS OR PROPOSITIONS. It is a methodology of raising perspectival awareness. There is no reason why anyone should say, “a dispensationalist believes ‘xyz,’” any more than you could say a literate person believes in certain things. It is a method or a process just like reading. It’s not something that is believed. It is something that is practiced. The result is not a set of propositions, but an enhanced perspectival awareness.

Systematic theology construes a model of reality. Then people do two things:1. They personally and emotionally identify with the model2. They optimize their beliefs and actions toward the model rather than toward

realitySystematic theology is insufficient to deal with the data of reality because it forms propositions and then semantically rationalizes it’s way to proposition sets that are plausible or non-contradictory with itself. But this is only as good as the people forming the system, and Calvinism isn’t exactly rife with people who can think things through. Eventually the proposition sets are considered authoritative, and at that point, no further learning is possible. The system actually then becomes the largest obstacle to further learning. Lenses are virtually impossible to completely avoid, so lens-modification potential is the most basic qualifier for a suitable lens. Thus, systematically configured proposition sets should be abandoned in favor of systematic methodology (ie: the inductive method). Any “model” should be highly flexible, modifiable, and amendable.

Page 12: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

Question from viewer in youtube comments:“Why not teach Free Grace Theology and equip hundreds or thousands to refute the false gospel of Calvinism/Lordship Salvation? Why leave them languishing to figure out the correct Soteriological system for themselves? The Calvinists have a huge head start on social media, and not informing His sheep how to quickly prepare for the fight by studying Free Grace is not doing anyone a service.”

Page 13: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

Teaching any “system” is an error because of the problems with systems. Bots with more acceptable propositions competing against NPCs from another system doesn’t help the root of problem get any better. Teaching a person to understand, learn, propagate and defend a system is like giving a man a fish. Not only would we rather teach a man to fish, but we would prefer to equip the man to learn how to discover and learn the things that he needs to know how to do, such as fishing. Propagation of systems of propositions creates future problems. If we produce epistemically equipped people, they will adapt to future situations and avoid the problems that a different system would inevitably precipitate.

Page 14: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

Formulaic system vs. formulaic system produces people who can only conduct simulated thinking. A strong NPC in a system will seem to outcompete NPCs in another system in the short term, but still loses in the end by not producing qualitatively transformed people, but instead, just people quantitatively programmed with a different proposition set. They are still unequipped to generate a viable system in the first place. Training people in ACTUAL thinking vs. simulated thinking (loyalty to willfully asserted proposition sets) has a recursive effect which works exponentially like compound interest. It will increase at a faster rate while also being able to increase the rate of its increase, which NPC systems cannot do since the founding skills are lost after the first generation.

Page 15: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

Methodology helps with thorough implementation of ASSESSMENT

CRITERIA.

Methodology serves as an Aid to context discovery and determination.

TARAAO or MNA Method

Page 16: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

Benefits of the TARAAO or MNA Method:• Helps zoom out on the big picture and enhance perspectival

awareness and knowledge• Enables resolution of apparent contradictions • Helps contextualize the narrative under examination • Provides key insights for how a given text will apply to the modern

reader • Allows the text to do all the work or speaking for itself without having

to impose a system on it, rendering it practically moot, and that effect is confusing to new initiates because they don’t yet know why they’re not supposed to take the text at its word. Systems condition people to not take the text at its word. • Results in the Bible making a lot more sense to readers at all levels.

Page 17: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

TARAAO or MNA Method:•Simple definition: not forbidding people to

believe what they read due to some taboo against a tenant of oppositional systematic theology. Example: Galatians 3:23-25; Acts 2:40; Rom. 10:5-6; . People are taught to modify scripture however necessary in order to justify unscriptural phrases they learned from Bro. Melms.

Page 18: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

TRANSITIONANALYSIS andRELEVANCEASSESSMENT,ANNOTATION andORGANIZATION

Analize all transitions. The best way to generate insight is to annotate all differences, especially in things that sound similar. Systematic theology is a method of reasoning that minimizes as many differences as possible. We want to emphasize them and make them salient, and keep our eye on them. Looking for changes in:Guidance InformationAgreements- promises- covenants- ultimatums Circumstances/Conditions Milestones Prophetic fulfillment

Page 19: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

TRANSITIONANALYSIS andRELEVANCEASSESSMENT,ANNOTATION andORGANIZATION

Analize all transitions.Sometimes the kairos transitional period lasts a while. - the one body goes back to the cross (Eph. 2)- Hebrew mentions Christ as the “once for all”

sacrifice. - Peter, James, John and Paul all participate in

temple activities, including sacrifices in the book of Acts- the temple remains in place until 70 AD- there is no automatic cessation of Temple worship

participation in the NT. We tend to post-hoc rationalize that idea.Don’t confuse a reality with propagation of that reality. It takes time for the announcement to spread.

Page 20: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

TRANSITIONANALYSIS andRELEVANCEASSESSMENT,ANNOTATION andORGANIZATION

Analize all transitions.Method:• Zoom in - zoom out (meta-narrative, charts)• Get a situational assessment that is as thorough

as possible. • Compare the Situational assessments from one

period to another and note the differences. Also note the similarities.

• Note the points of Kronos vs. times of Kairos. • Look for conditional overlaps (variables and

invariables)• What is the duration of this condition? (Start

point, end point)• What is the effective date of this condition vs. the

revelation date vs. the propagation lag?

Page 21: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

TRANSITIONANALYSIS andRELEVANCEASSESSMENT,ANNOTATION andORGANIZATION

Relevance Assessment.Ask how the transition is relevant to:• Appropriation of salvation• Criteria for inclusion as “God’s people”• How does this affect what resources are available

to the character in the narrative vs. a person today?• What is the appropriate interaction with other

people aligned with the common trajectory and ideals?

• How does the information or guidance affect the current life or afterlife?

• How much revelation was available to the person in the narrative vs. people in other periods or vs. people today?

• What should a person DO with regard to the guidance given during the period, then vs. now?

Page 22: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

TRANSITIONANALYSIS andRELEVANCEASSESSMENT,ANNOTATION andORGANIZATION

Annotation and Organization.Visually and verbally arrange the conditions to optimize cognitive recall and fluency:Terminology:• Conventions – optimizes interactive functionaly• Systemic deviation is irrelevant• Individual deviation is inconvenient• Don’t confuse with doctrine

• Standards – optimizes interactive fluency• Deviation decreases affordances for cooperative

learning and action (proprietary)• Don’t confuse with doctrine

• Doctrine – authoritative policy of action, commitment or willful assertion • Deviation of any kind is considered heresy• Establish VERY cautiously and with humility

Page 23: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

TRANSITIONANALYSIS andRELEVANCEASSESSMENT,ANNOTATION andORGANIZATION

Annotation and Organization.Visually and verbally arrange the conditions to optimize cognitive recall and fluency:Terminology with the goal of interactive efficiency:• What common label can be used for the points or

periods of transition?• What common label can be used for the periods

between he transition points?• What level of “authority” is the terminology

considered? • Convention? Standard? Doctrine/Dogma?

• Charts, diagrams, venn diagrams help visualization• A venn diagram can help clarify point of

delineation beyond that which is easily presumed or assumed if not checked.

Page 24: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

TARAAO or MNA Method is aPRACTICE,

not a set of beliefs.

All assumptions, pressupositions and dogmas are considered pollutants to the

practice/method until thoroughly vetted and validated.

Charts are merely attempts to aid in meta-narrative contextualization.

They should not be considered dogmatic or authoritative, nor

should they be stigmatized.

My Actual belief is that the “body” is made possible by the crucifixion and that he Holy Spirit starts baptizing people into the body in Acts 2, not Acts 8.

Page 28: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

My actual understanding is that the “body” is made possible by the crucifixion and that he Holy Spirit starts

baptizing people into the body in Acts 2, not Acts 8.

Ephesians 3:1–19 (KJV)1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you

Gentiles, 2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God

which is given me to you-ward: 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the

mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge

in the mystery of Christ) 5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of

men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and

prophets by the Spirit; 6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same

body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: 7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the

grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his

power. 8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this

grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the

unsearchable riches of Christ; 9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the

mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been

hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers

in heavenly places might be known by the church the

manifold wisdom of God, 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in

Christ Jesus our Lord: 12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by

the faith of him. 13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for

you, which is your glory. 14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord

Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his

glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner

man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye,

being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the

breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge,

that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Page 35: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

Galatians 1:11–20 (KJV)11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. 13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: 14 And profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called meby his grace,

16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: 17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. 18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. 19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord’s brother. 20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

Page 36: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

Galatians 2:9 (KJV)9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

Page 37: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

Romans 11:25 (KJV)25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Romans 16:25 (KJV)25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, 1 Corinthians 2:7 (KJV)7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, eventhe hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 1 Corinthians 4:1–2 (KJV)1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Ephesians 1:9 (KJV)9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: Ephesians 3:3–4 (KJV)3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Ephesians 3:9 (KJV)9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: Ephesians 5:32 (KJV)32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Ephesians 6:19 (KJV)19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

Page 38: REPLACING DISPENSATIONALISM

Colossians 1:25–27 (KJV)25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; 26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Colossians 2:2 (KJV)2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

Colossians 4:3 (KJV)3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: 2 Thessalonians 2:7 (KJV)7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 1 Timothy 3:9 (KJV)9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. 1 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)16 And without controversy great is the mysteryof godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

1 Corinthians 15:51–58 (KJV)51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then

shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labouris not in vain in the Lord.

Romans 15:8–16 (KJV)8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: 9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name. 10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. 11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people. 12 And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. 14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. 15 Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God, 16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
