Classes, clubs and teams are progressing very well! We enjoyed seeing you at Open House. I trust your student is “plugged-in” and thriving. As you are aware, your kids are being challenged with the rigor of Common Core State Standards. Common Core State Standards require teachers to understand the thinking behind the teaching. As the instructional leader, I am committed to assisting my teachers to increase students’ level of learning. Teachers are presenting classroom instruction that is more engaging, that requires students to be active participants. In order to compete, our students must be able to think critically. We believe that “yesterday’s answers won’t solve today’s problems.” Therefore, we are guiding our students along college and career pathways that require them to “stretch” a little. We are rapidly approaching the part of the year that senior students begin to feel the push and pull of College Admissions. I invite you to contact our Guidance Office to assist your efforts. Are you aware that Creekside HS continues to grow and prosper? We take pride in making a connection to every student, every day. In closing, I leave you with a quote from President Calvin Coolidge: “Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” Let’s be a blessing to others, Sincerely, Randy J. Health Information Technology is an emerging profession where health care meets the cutting edge of technology. Tech-nicians contribute to the quality of care by collecting, analyzing and reporting health care data. This requires knowledge of dis-ease, treatments, computer systems and organizational skills. After completing the Associate in Science degree program, stu-dents are eligible to sit for the national credentialing exam to become a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).

Creekside Knights Athletic Booster Club School is back in session and with that comes the start of another exciting year of sports at Creekside High School. Each of the fall sports teams have already begun their seasons. Whatever your passion, whether it be football, swim team, volleyball, cross country, golf, band, cheerleading, or dancing, Creekside High offers an event for you to either participate in or be a spectator of. Sports are very abundant this fall indeed. All of these, however; may not be possible without the constant support of The Creekside Knights Athletic Booster Club (CKABC) Under the direction of President, Anne Marie Gennusa and in coordination with Guy Harris, Athletic Director, The Creekside Knights Athletic Booster Club’s main purpose is to provide cooperation of home, school, and community in support of all of the athletic programs of Creekside High School, the 2013 membership drive is currently underway. All student athlete families at Creekside are strongly encouraged to help further the success of their athletic programs by joining Boosters at any of the levels of membership. The Booster Club also relies heavily on the support of our business and community sponsors. Please contact CKABC at http://www.creeksideknights.com/ if you are interested in helping our student athletic programs. The Booster Club is proud to partner with the Travis Manion Foundation for the 3rd Annual 9/11 Heroes Run-Jacksonville. Volunteer, donate or cheer….but most of all “Honor” the sacrifices of 9/11. Driven to Give, inspired by the Lincoln Reimage Project will be at the Knights Varsity Football game on Friday, 9/27 from 4pm to 9pm. They will donate $20.00 to Creekside High School for each test drive or survey completed that night. Whichever CHS sports team is best represented that evening will be awarded a special prize for their team. Get your Creekside Spirit Wear! Don’t buy the knock-offs…Williams Athletics is authorized and now carries authentic Creekside High School Spiritwear! The Kings Closet will also be open for business at select sporting events throughout the school year. Save the Date! The Third Annual “Running of the Knights” will be held on Friday, May 16th at Creekside High School. This is a 5k Run/Walk, a Centipede Team Race, and One Mile Fun Run. There will also be a Family friendly festival with food, games, music and more.
