ANNUAL REPORT-2006-07
The SAE-India collegiate club of this college was started with 59 student members and two faculty
advisors in the year 2006.
The SAE-India Collegiate club was inaugurated by Dr.G.Renganathan,Chairman & MD,Rover
Components Limited, Coimbatore on 17-10-2006.
He delivered a special lecture on "Future of Automotive Technology -What is in Store?"
On 24-01-2007 the collegiate club members have attended a demo of various vehicles like
Mercedes Benz, Toyota Qualis & Ford Endaveur.
On 06-03-2007 the students underwent a training by regular mechanics in heavy vehicles of our
college.
ANNUAL REPORT 2007-08
On 20-08-2007 the SAE- India collegiate club of our college have started its activities for the year
2007-08. Mr.S.Chandramouli, Sr. GM, TAFE, Madurai was the chief guest of the function and he
delivered a guest lecture on the topic “Product Trends in Tractor Industry”.
Mr.M.A.Antony of III year Mechanical Engg. Have been sent for a training on “Aeromodelling”
conducted by Anna University, Chennai on 08-09-2007.
On 06-10-2007 all the SAE student members visited TAFE tractor plant at Madurai and gained
knowledge about the assembling of tractors.
On 12-10-2007 the SAE-India tier-I Quiz Competition was conducted for our SAE members.
On 15-10-2007 the SAE-India tier-I Paper presentation contest was conducted for our SAE
members.
On 15-10-2007 the SAE-India tier-I Aeromodelling contest was conducted for our SAE
members.
Our SAE student members, Mr.C.Victor Ram Phal, Mr.M.A.Antony and Mr.John Mathuram have
bagged the second prize in SAE tier-II “Aeromodelling Contest” which was held at MEPCO Schlenk
Engg. College, Sivakasi on 05-01-2008
Our SAE student members, Mr.C.Victor Ram Phal, Mr.M.A.Antony and Mr.John Mathuram have
bagged the second prize in “Aeromodelling Contest” of SAE-INDIA student convention-2008 which
was held at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore on 12-01-2008.
Our SAE student members, Mr.C.Victor Ramphal, Mr.S.Srivijay team & Mr.M.A.Antony,
Mr.J.John Mathuram team have bagged the First & Second prize respectively in the Aeromodelling
Competition(ACELERON) of National level technical symposium ZEPHYRUS’08, held at MEPCO-Schlenk
Engg. College, Sivakasi, on 22-02-2008.
On 05-03-2008 our SAE-India collegiate club is planned to organize a state level symposium
“MOGUL-2008”.

On the occasion of the inaugural function for the current academic year 2008-2009 the SAE collegiate
club, Department of Mechanical Engineering of PSNA college of Engineering & Technology, Dindigul
kicked off its current academic activities .
The inaugural function was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr. Mohan K, SAE AEROMODELLING
CHAMPION,Coimbatore in the morning session which was felicitated by Vice-Principal
Prof.M.P.Raghavan and head of Mechanical Engg department Dr.D.Vasudevan.In the afternoon
session, it was a breath taking “AIR SHOW “conducted in the college playground by a renowned Radio
Controlled Glider Expert Mr.Radha kamalakharan and Team, Chennai who also enlightened the
students about the concepts of gliding.
The basic interest was initiated by SAE-INDIA SOUTHERN SECTION which conducted many seminars in
Aero modeling design and competitions to indulge all students of Engineering colleges in the
concept of Aero modeling and encourage them to make their own gliders and make them fly and
experience the “ART OF FLYING& JOY OF LEARNING”. The interest taken by SAE-INDIA encouraged all
students which also initiated our collegiate club staff advisors Prof.R Kannan and Mr.T Ramachandran
to conduct the “AIR SHOW” which was a huge success. The show gathered crowds from all
departments and thus encouraged the students to have their own gliders made.
SAE Collegiate club and Department of Mechanical Engineering of PSNA college of Engineering &
Technology,Dindigul has decided to start a Aeromodelling club in the college where students can
participate in a team to make a Radio controlled glider by themselves joining hands with SAE-INDIA
who will help with design and materials. The club which will start soon under efforts of staff advisors
Prof.R Kannan and Mr.T Ramachandran and student coordinators Mr.Antony.M A and
Mr.JohnMathuram J are determined to make the glider for the collegiate club of their college.

The office bearers for the year 2009-10 were selected and sworn on the inaugural club
meeting of SAE-INDIA PSNA CET COLLEGIATE CLUB which was on 12-07-2009. Prof.R.Kannan
the staff coordinator of SAE collegiate club of PSNA CET made brief lecture regarding the SAE
and its benefits to the students. He also congratulated the office bearers on their new
responsibility to gain new heights in the collegiate club.

Mr.Aravind of II year Mechanical Engg attended the one day workshop on “Aeromodelling
Design and contesting ” conducted by MIT, Chennai on 16-01-2010.
On 6-Aug-2009 to 17-Aug-2009 our college has conducted the TIER – I events for the SAE
members of our college. There were almost 8 competitions kept for the TIER – I event which
was held in the department of mechanical Engg.
On 12-08-2009 the SAE-India Tier-I Quiz Competition was conducted for our SAE
members.There were 6 teams each consisting of 3 members.The quiz had 5 rounds and the
members were haunted with questions from automotive field. Mr.Nagashivamuni final year
student was the quiz master.
On 07-08-2009 the SAE-India Tier-I Paper presentation contest was conducted for our SAE
members. About 10 teams presented papers on various topics and the recent trends in
automotives. Prof.N.Harikannan and Prof.K.Rajalingam presided the function and was the
judge for the competition.
On 07-08-2009 the SAE-India Tier-I Proe design contest was conducted for our SAE members.
About 08 teams presented the design and Mr.S.Sabrishwaran lecturer presided the function
and was the judge for the competition.
On 17-08-2007 the SAE-India Tier-I Aeromodelling contest was conducted for our SAE
members. There was a huge response for the glider competition and about 50 members
participated for the glider contest. Students were given instructions on the design and its
fabrication and all the gliders were given chance to prove their mettle. Prof.R Kannan and
Mr.T Ramachandran,Lecturer were the judges who judged the gliders on various respects
Our SAE student members, Mr.Iyappan, R.Karthick & S.Balu have bagged the First prize in SAE
Tier-II “Graphical Design Contest” which was held at KLN Engg. College, Madurai on 05-01-
2010.
Our SAE student members, Mr.Prabhu Bernard & S.Muthiah have bagged the third prize in
