The Scouts presented their activities and various situations through which they implement outdoor education methods ( camp, sport, orientation exercises )

Visiting the Lupoaia Mine and Lupoaia Quarry: the natural resources, the machines used for the extraction of coal, discussions upon air pollution

Cultural visits: historical monument of Cula Glogovei, C. Brancusi’s masterpieces Workshop “Preparing the campaign” : discussions on the message (local

problems), media tools of make it public

Course “ Outdoor education ”

Objectives: Identify methods of alternative

education and developing these methods so that it can be used in by teachers/youth workers in their work with children and young people

Activities: Giving information about:

outdoor education, methods and tools to use this education type in the educational act

Practical examples of outdoor education

Results: The participants acquired abilities

that can be used in their work: with children, youth, families, etc

The theoretical principles on which the outdoor education is based on can be easier integrate in the work of the teachers/youth workers

The course gave the participants a new perspective of the education

The participants considered the knowledge acquired applicable for their work with families and children

Seminar “Guidance on outdoor learning – effective practices”

Objective: To consolidate the level of

understanding of the concept of outdoor education of the participants

To cultivate awareness of the possibility of combining formal education with outdoor education

Activities: The participants presented their own

project for a better understanding of the outdoor education

Practical ideas and perspectives on outdoor education

Results The participants achieved new

knowledge about outdoor education

The participants acquired practical competences for developing educational project having the main theme: outdoor education

Workshop ”Opportunities to learn across the curriculum”

Objectives: Offer examples of outdoor

education in primary school Analyze the methods of outdoor

education for youth

Activities: Realize projects with the theme:

Forest School and Eco-School

Results: Consolidation of the knowledge

about outdoor education

“ Outdoor education for pupils”

Objectives:Activities:

Outdoor education activities Give information to pupils

through outdoor education Develop the respect for nature,

creativity and discovering the personal abilities of pupils

Develop various learning methods for pupils

Exchange of own experience in the field of protecting the environment

Program “ Skills for work” – planting tree, flowers, green the school yard

Research on natural resources from Catunele region – we organized a trip to observe

Results Pupils understood the role they

have in protecting the environment Pupils gained abilities, they’ve

learned how to plant, how to take care of nature.

The teachers used what they learned in the outdoor education course and seminars

The project’s evaluation at local level

Objectives: Results

Discussions about the activities, evaluate the communication, efficacy, the profile of a team member ( responsibilities )

Discussions of the future activities: establishing the team who will work on the manual

The team member had the possibility of auto-evaluation, to express their opinion/concerning toward the project

We identify solution for the problems we had during the implementation of the project

Problems we had during the project

Communication between people involved in the project is poor: not resort to direct communication, on the other side, the communication is difficult because few people have internet or ICT skills;

The difficulty to answer at deadlines: some team members does not respond to their responsibilities or respond very hard at the requests ;

The lack of experience in European projects and also the lack of experience of involving in commune projects;

!!! We did manage to handle all the problems and at the end we are trying step by step to make thinks work properly.

Mobility in Mus-Turkey

Objectives: Results

Descovering the nature by spending 6 days in a camp

Debate on the environment issues from Catunele and from Mus

Activitati: Hiking in nature Green activities Sport-educative activities focus

on protecting the environment Cultural visit of Mus

Participants had acquired new knowledge about protecting the environment through outdoor learning

Participants established friendship and co-operation relations with members of the Consortium

Second mobility in Romania-Catunele

» Objectives:- Intermediate evaluation of the project- Dissemination of project’s activities undertaken by each partner country- Working on the manual- Conference – methods to stimulate children’s creativity

Activities:- A retrospective upon the project: interactive discussions that followed to

understand the project’s implementation process in each country ( obstacle, problems, results and so on )

- Completion of evaluation questionnaires by each person participating at the mobility

- Visiting Secondary School No.2 Motru- Working on the manual : establishing the content, the design, no. of pages- Cultural visit of Baia de Fier ( visiting Women’s Cave )

- Conference methods to stimulate children’s creativity – were presented the following papers:

» "Creativity - the scout view" - a representative of the National Organization of Romanian Scouts - talked about novel methods and techniques used by scouts to stimulate creativity

» "Outdoor education as a method to stimulate creativity" - an expert pedagogue approached the topic of outdoor education as a mean of stimulating students' creativity - school camps, trips, fields, etc.

» "Examples of good practice" - an expert school counselor talked about examples of good practice for fostering creativity through dance, festivals, contests, cards, carnival

» "Active learning" - a representative partner of Turkey spoke about a method used in schools from Turkey, the method that each school must use it for learning. Directly by this presentation, the teachers have taught the concept of "active learning“ ( using different methods and techniques that stimulate creativity and can be used constantly in the class).

The main results of the conference were:» School should stimulate expression of the creative potential of each child's initiatives to encourage

ingenuity and curiosity;» any teacher should pay attention to various methods to stimulate students' creativity and must be itself

a creative attitude in learning;» conference participants have learned new things that can help them in both professional and personal

activities;» was exchanged experiences and information between different educational actors at the transnational

level, it was found that there are similar methods for stimulating creativity and also different methods that can be easily integrated in the learning process;

» the participants improved their communication in English, they asked questions, they acquired skills in public speaking, and expressed their own opinions and views.

Working on the manual

» Establishing the team members that worked on the manual: their tasks

» Establishing the content of the manual» Gathering the learning materials used in the

trainings on outdoor education» Selecting the best photos to be inserted in the

manual» Elaboration of the manual’s content, improve the

content when needed and establish the final form to be presented to our partners

» Objectives:- Discussions on the manual “Experiential learning tool” - the content of

the manual, exchange of learning materials, manual’s design- Establish the final common form of the manual

» Activities- 3 working sessions on the manual: both partners presented their

materials and tried to combined it to get the final form- Demonstrative lesson of outdoor education- Artistic program-Romanian traditional music and dances- Cultural visit of Tismana: visiting the area and Tismana Monastery
