I try to practice what I preach:

1. Reflect on the past- Remember the successes (and learn from the failures)

- Themes for 2013 were pricing, procurement and project management

- Take time to think

2. Look to the future- Set goals – for the short term and the long term- Reinvent and innovate- Take time to plan

3. Connect with people- Research views and analyse- Share thoughts with clients and contacts- Take time to thank people for being part of the journey

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Key Account Management (KAM) is increasingly important. A major research and Key Client Management project kicks off for a major firm of accountants

There were many coaching successes. From lawyers merging their practices to others moving theirs. From accountants growing their portfolios or sharing their best practice. To construction folk building their teams and finding new roles.

June 2013

Training remains a key element of my work. Whether on public courses or in-house. Whether competitive tendering for actuaries, strategy for personal injury lawyers or management development for barristers.

July 2013

Social media continues to grow and I reviewed numerous books. Integration into marketing and business development campaigns remains a challenge. Writing, campaign management and social media were topics on public courses as well as for leading firms of accountants

You can’t keep a good journalist down!

Throughout the year I continued to write my own blogs and for others – including a series of Marvellous Marketing case studies.

I continue to act as editorial consultant for Professional Marketing magazine.

But I was also out and about reviewing restaurants and events for All In London and maintaining my Kids in London and London Dog Blogs
