Jetwing Eco Holidays was created to cater to specialist travelers and small, specialist tour operators who would think that a big travel company has no time for them

What is the process( Do you travel with the clients) or is there a team to take up the office work and travel?

Gehan decides on the product development and the office staff executes his decisions. They make sure to be on the field to assure to the clients that all their needs are satisfied to the optimum. Yet, making time to check on new arrivals and schedule a tour for them.

How do you promote eco tourism add to the Jetwing Eco Holiday website?

Gehan is the lead author and photographer of many publications of Books on this subject. Thus, creating a source of additional information for the potential travelers. Add to Gehan, leading publishers such New Holland and Bradt releases information

How did you decide to select your team since its not just a 9 to 5 job in office it is outbound as well?

The criteria were as follows:

The Directors are all personally interested in wildlife, culture and conservation.

The directors firmly believe in developing the community.

The Directors and staff travel regularly within and outside Sri Lanka, to update their knowledge.

The employees have a high degree of empathy due to their commitment to work.

Tell us about the “Eco” tour leaders /how versatile are they in their knowledge?

The expert tour leaders are as follows……..

Wicky : knowledgeable about the Sri Lankan cultural sites

as well as nature

Hetti : birding knowledge is impressive, he is able to filter

and differentiate the sounds of the birds.

Jaya : has been leading birding tours for many years and

has lately taken an interest in primates

Anything you would like to tell us on behalf of Jetwing Eco Holidays?

Jetwing Eco Holidays believes in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Therefore to manifest this belief Jetwing does not encourage tour leaders to influence the travelers to shop, only upon request by the traveler.

Part of the revenue generated from this venture is retuned back to the conservation of the very source, to sustain for the consumption of the future generations.

Jetwing encourages carbon offsets-Thus, refusing plastic bottles in its hotels.

Discourages additional packing material Switched to energy efficient lighting Training trishaw drivers to be part and partial of the

inbound travel. Training provided by Dr Sriyanie Miththapala who trains

the staff on environmental best practices.
