ONE Or MOrE Of ThE AbOvE SupEriNTENDENTS Will SupEriNTEND ThiS ShOW

Saturday & SundayA New Exhibitor Briefing will be held during these Shows. The briefing location & time will be posted in the Judging Program. Spectators are welcome to attend.

We are excited to be returning to the Royal Plaza Trade Center (RPTC) in Marlboro, Massachusetts. We apologize to those who had problems with grooming space in our first year—we have made significant revisions this year with spaces 50% larger than last year and the cost reduced to $30 per space. All reserved grooming spaces will have access to shared electricity. There will also be a complimentary “blow-n-go” area for those who need only a few minutes of blow drying and a special day crating area that must be cleared each night.

Our site has approximately 12,000 square feet of grooming space, ample free parking with about 200 spaces for exhibitors adjacent to the show site, with hundreds of additional parking spots in front of the Best Western hotel up the hill from our site or in the office complexes to the left and behind the Trade Center. New this year will be reserved parking for handlers and exhibitors who want to groom outside or just park close to the building—see the form with the reserved grooming space form.

See our show site exterior layout map and the indoor map with ring locations and grooming area map on the page to the right.

Plenty of unloading spaces will be available at the front entrance--please follow the signs as traffic will be one-way in front of the building. Exhibitors enter through the double doors on the left front of the building, and the general public and spectators enter the Main Entrance at the center of the building. These are the only two entrances to the site, and due to RPTC regulations, anyone entering the building through any entrance must be checked for credentials. PLEASE BRINg YOUR MBF ShOW ENTRY CONFIRMATION IN hARDCOPY. Spectators must enter through the Main Entrance.

AkC National Owner-handled Series - Saturday(Remember to check the box at the bottom of the entry form)

The AKC National Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by their owners that are not professional handlers.

All dogs that are owner-handled and are not solely owned or exhibited by professional handlers* meet the requirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner-Handled eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the steward’s book & the catalog. dogs must be handled throughout the breed level competition for the regular show by an eligible owner. professional handlers, household members and current assistants** to professional handlers may not exhibit the dog in this competition.

Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best of Breed/Variety competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and undefeated winners of the non-regular classes. This excludes all dogs defeated during class and winners competition for the regular show.

• If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it will automatically be Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety and be eligible to compete in both the regular as well as the Owner-Handled group.

• If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is not eligible for Owner-Handled competition and the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety is eligible, the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety will compete against the eligible exhibits of the other sex to determine Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety.

• If neither the Best of Breed/Variety nor the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety are Owner-Handled competition eligible and Select Dog & Select Bitch are both eligible, the judge is to choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the Selects and eligible Winners Dog or Winners Bitch.

• If one of the Selects is eligible, excuse all Champions and non-regular class winners of the same sex and then choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the remaining dogs of the opposite sex including the eligible Winners.

• If the regular show Best of Breed/Variety, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety, Select Dog & Select Bitch are not eligible, the judge may choose any eligible dog who competed in Best of Breed/Variety including Winners Dog or Winners Bitch as the Best of Breed/Variety for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series.

• If the Best of Winners is eligible, the other Winners are ineligible since it was defeated.• No class dogs other than the Winners Dog & Winners Bitch are eligible to return to the ring.

The breed will not be represented in the Owner-Handled Group if there is no eligible dog competing in the Best of Breed/Variety or in Best of Winners competition.

*Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years.

Wachusett Kennel Club, Inc. RESERVED GROOMING & HANDLER PARKING FORM

We took your feedback from last year to improve the Reserved Grooming area. The size of the spaces has been increased and more aisles have been added. All spaces will have access to shared electricity. Please be sure to reserve enough space for your dogs and equipment.

We have also added Reserved Handler Parking in the lot closest to and to the left of the exhibitor entrance (see Site Map). These are regular-sized parking spaces and you will be only allowed to use your assigned space(s). Please be sure to reserve enough space for your vehicle and other set-ups. The space is limited to cars and vans only that can fit into normal parking spaces. Bring cones to help us mark your spot(s). No RVs or trailers will be allowed in this area.

Free unreserved, open grooming space without electricity will also be available on a first come, first served basis. No saving of spaces will be allowed. Plenty of free, unreserved parking is available at this site adjacent to the building and in the surrounding office park.

Persons wishing to setup together must submit reservations in the same envelope. We will make every effort to fulfill your request.

Each reserved grooming space is 6’ wide x 10’ deep. Each reserved parking space is ~9’ x 18’.

Do you need dedicated electrical circuit? You can order one directly from the Trade Center and we will reserve separate space for you. Email Candy for more information before August 1, 2015.
