Animals in danger of extinction.

What would happen if everyone cared about animals and did something to help them?

Page 2: Ppt0000000

Major causes of extinction

•Taking animals for profit.•Hunting and trapping.•Over harvesting. HUMAN DEMAND•Introduced species.•Destruction of habitat.•Pollution.

Page 3: Ppt0000000

Other causes are:

•Habitat loss and fragmentation•National and international wildlife trade•Pet trade•Fur trade•Bush meat trade•Body parts trade•Trade for biomedical research•Climate change – Global Warming•Introduce (invasive) species: •Farmer / rancher shootings

Page 4: Ppt0000000

What can everybody do to help endangered species?

• Conserve habitats and protect them• Make space for our wildlife• Recycle, reduce and reuse• Control introduced plants and animals.• Join an organization.• Make your voice heard.

Pandas

Ecosystem:•Their native area of living on Bamboo forests.•Bamboo forest are located in China.•As their habitat os being destroyed they are relocated in artificial areas that represent the bamboo forests•They have problem to reproduce

Page 12: Ppt0000000

Causes of extinction:

• Living areas debastated.• Small new areas to live.• People eat bamboo seeds, so they cut down

their nature ecosystem• Also pandas eat bamboo seeds.• As they are shy animals in this new artificial

areas they can not reproduce their species.

Animals in danger of extinction in Argentina

• Argentina it’s a country located in South America. • It has a diversity of climates and land.• Argentina is a very good place where animals and

plants can live. • Humans don’t know how important is to conserve the

natural equality. • Fauna is in danger of extinction. • There are 985 species of birds, 345 mammals, and

248 reptiles, 145 amphibious and 710 fishes.

Animals in extinction in the world

• Extinction has increases because of human activities.• Humans transform areas very quickly and in a short period

of time. • People make up clothes or even houses with animals

bodies. • They destroyed forests and jungles (where many animals

lives), deserts and fields.• Activities change animals life’s, they have to adapt to new

places if not they die. • Humans compete with wildlife for their fields and nature. • Less exotic animals, more animals in danger of extinction.

Pink dolphins

Ecosystem:

• Native area: Amazon River and Hong Kong’s Pearl River• Food: fish and crabs.• Live up to 40 years in their habitat and 4 in captivity• Brain capacity: 40% larger than human’s.• Friendliest dolphin.

Page 17: Ppt0000000

Causes of their extinction

•Hunted for their eyes and teeth.•High contamination levels in rivers where they live.•Numerous boats in those rivers hit dolphins•Deforestation.•Sound pollution from boats.•They get stuck in fisherman’s nets.•Construction of dams.
