Power Demolition Tools Cutting technology
Hydraulic power from the excavator is applied through a hydraulic motor to rotate the cutter drums. By pressing the drums against material, the picks penetrate into the material. Through a combination of cutting and crushing actions, picks remove material and advance. The angle of attack ensures self sharpening action.
Fixing the pick boxes in a spiral pattern around the drum provides a space between the cutting track for each individual pick. The pick spacing shares the work between all the picks and ensures material is removed evenly across the full area to be cut.
