ALSAN RS Roof waterproofing system - the professional's choice The ALSAN RS roof waterproofing system is used on the flat roofs of such constructions as industrial units and high-rise buildings, and especially for the refurbishment of such roofs. It is also suitable for the rapid and reliable waterproofing of specific areas, i.e. all upstands associated with ventilators, roof lights and gullies. The main product is the ALSAN RS 230 resin, a highly flexible and UV-stable PMMA resin formulation. The water- proofing is perfectly matched to the requirements on site, since ALSAN listens to and implements customer demands. The application method is straightforward: The substrate must be dry and sound. It is prepared and, if necessary, pre-treated as indicated on the substrate table. For instance, substrates such as asphalt, concrete or screed are primed, while bitumen sheets are not. The fleece-embedding layer (approx. 2,0 kg/m 2 ) consists of PMMA resin and is generously applied with a lambswool roller. The fleece is incorporated in the liquid resin and any air inclusions removed. The fleece acts as a layer thickness control and lends the system its mechanical properties. The fleece is then saturated with more PMMA resin (approx. 1,5 kg/m 2 ), which is applied wet in wet. If necessary, a top coat can be applied after a short interval to increase the chemical and mechanical resistance. A final sealer makes the surface easier to clean and provides a range of attractive design options. ALSAN RSRoof waterproofing system - the professional's choice

The ALSAN RS roof waterproofing system is used on the flat roofs of such constructions as industrialunits and high-rise buildings, and especially for the refurbishment of such roofs. It is also suitable forthe rapid and reliable waterproofing of specific areas, i.e. all upstands associated with ventilators, roof lights and gullies.

The main product is the ALSAN RS 230 resin, a highly

flexible and UV-stable PMMA resin formulation. The water-

proofing is perfectly matched to the requirements on site,

since ALSAN listens to and implements customer demands.

The application method is straightforward:

The substrate must be dry and sound. It is prepared and, if

necessary, pre-treated as indicated on the substrate table.

For instance, substrates such as asphalt, concrete or screed

are primed, while bitumen sheets are not.

The fleece-embedding layer (approx. 2,0 kg/m2) consists of

PMMA resin and is generously applied with a lambswool

roller. The fleece is incorporated in the liquid resin and any

air inclusions removed. The fleece acts as a layer thickness

control and lends the system its mechanical properties. The

fleece is then saturated with more PMMA resin (approx.

1,5kg/m2), which is applied wet in wet.

If necessary, a top coat can be applied after a short interval

to increase the chemical and mechanical resistance.

A final sealer makes the surface easier to clean and provides

a range of attractive design options.

Flat roofs are always functional areas as well. Among otherthings, they accommodate the roof installations for the roomsbelow or for façade cleaning systems. The alpha and omegaof a non-leaking flat roof is the secure and lasting waterproofingof a large number of details, different substrate materialsand individual design solutions. The liquid-applied ALSAN RSroof waterproofing system offers maximum reliability andvalue for money when it comes to these particular functions.

State of the art: Liquid-applied plastics

have been used with particular success

for refurbishment for over 30 years now

and are recognised by experts in the field

as providing high-quality waterproofing.

Flat roof waterproofing systems leave no room for trial and error Security has top priority when it comes to the permanent protection of

property. The experts at ALSAN also have the right solution for your roof.

We recommend a seamless, liquid waterproofing system. True to its

description, it is a liquid-applied plastic material that can be applied to fit any

roof shape on site. A fully embedded fleece ensures that any cracks which

might appear at a later stage will be safely bridged. The waterproofing

system is highly reactive and adheres fully to the substrate. This creates a

homogeneous waterproofing layer within a very short period – perfectly

fitted to the contours of the roof.

Liquid-applied plastics are among the most important construction materials

of the future. For more than 30 years they have complemented conventional

waterproofing methods. Elaborate auxiliary constructions are superfluous,

no time-intensive “fiddly” work is required and the areas of application are

as varied as the roofscapes. Your benefits at a glance:

Maximum security: All upstands are perfectly integrated to create

a homogeneous, waterproof “trough”.

Economical: A liquid waterproofing system allows complex flat roofs

to be sealed quickly and efficiently. This method also means that the

costs of removing the existing waterproofing can be saved.

Durable: The PMMA waterproofing system is permanently flexible and

features outstanding hydrolysis and chemical resistance.
