through the behavior of our closest primate kin.

World renowned primatologist and author of Chimpanzee Politics and

Bonobo: The Forgotten Ape, Frans de Waal is a pioneer in the exploration

of human behavior evolution as a reflection of our primate cousins. His

latest book, Our Inner Ape, challenges our understanding of “human

nature” and leads us to question ourselves, and our behavior. Thoughtful

and provocative, Our Inner Ape reveals the connections we share between

chimps and bonobos, and human beings.

Join us on Saturday, January 21 2006 Starting at 1:30 p.m. Come early for docent-led tours of the Regenstein Center for African Apes and the Helen Brach Primate House (registration required). 3 p.m. Frans de Waal lecture and booksigning. Introduction by Dr. Paul Heltne, Chicago Academy of Sciences and its Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum

Lincoln Park Zoo Judy Keller Education Center $16 student with valid I.D., $18 Lincoln Park Zoo and Nature Museum members, and $20 non-member.
