H.B. 885: the Mississippi Legislature passed H.B. 885 in 2015. This piece of legislation
requires a health insurance policy to provide coverage for the screening, diagnosis, and
treatment of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This coverage took effect on January 1,
2016. H.B. 885 was championed by Rep. Steve Massengill and Sen. Rita Parks along
with assistance from the Secretary of State’s Office.
