270 HP291 lb-ft of torqueFor optimal power, Pathfinder has an advanced Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVVTCS). This system manages air consumption to give you enormous low-end torque and greater power as velocity rises. So whether you’re crawling over rocks or creating a blur on the horizon, you’ll have more power. More efficiency. More reasons to extend the vacation a few days.

Squeezing every last ounce of muscle out of this powerhouse is an advanced 5-speed automatic transmission. This high-performance control system lets you achieve quicker acceleration, greater efficiency and smoother shift quality.

PAVE YOUR OWN ROADS.

AND OWN THE PAVED ONES.To reach that remote destination, take the road paved with asphalt. Or snow. Or mud. Chances are, the resolute strength of the all-new Pathfi nder is tough enough to get you through it. This state-of-the-art 4.0-litre 24-valve V6 is based on the award-winning VQ engine series, and developed especially for Pathfi nder. It produces more power than Pathfi nder has ever known, pumping out 270 horsepower and a class-leading 291 lb-ft of torque, more torque than any other V6 in its class.* It’s all made possible with the help of friction-reducing microfi nishing for silky-smooth performance at every turn.

EVERY GREAT ESCAPE REQUIRES A SMOOTH GETAWAY. HERE’S YOURS.

For greater durability over the long haul, Pathfi nder’s frame is built with super high-tensile steel in strategic areas, for improved structural integrity. This rugged material is 90% stronger and 22% lighter than conventional steel. It all adds up to more dynamic performance, solid handling, and superior ride comfort.

Planning your next getaway can be rough. Fortunately, the ride there doesn’t have to be. Pathfi nder is equipped with a road-smoothing multi-link independent rear suspension that helps absorb the bumps and improve handling, especially on rough roads. It is also designed to maximize interior space, providing high riding comfort for your fellow escapees in the second and third rows.

Wherever you go, the action is sure to follow. Up to 2722 kg* (6000 lb) of it. Pathfi nder’s maximum towing capacity can get your custom motorcycles, fi shing boat, snowmobiles, or other fun-fueled ride-of-choice to the secret spot in time to set the weekend in motion. TO

WIN

GIt’s Friday afternoon and the open roads are calling. And as it has for almost 20 years, Pathfi nder answers the call. Be it a hometown tour of home-improvement stores, or a long-overdue trip to the mountains, Pathfi nder will provide you with a smooth, solid ride from start to snow-covered fi nish.

THE EARTH IS YOUR PLAYGROUND.

TIME FOR RECESS.

Pathfi nder fi nds fun wherever it travels, from snowy mountain roads to rocky riverbeds. And if the skies throw a little water into the mix, then it’s playtime for this nature-loving SUV.

Pathfi nder’s standard shift-on-the-fl y 4WD system can be activated at speeds up to 80 km/hr (50 mph). This system features a low-range gear with a unique electronic throttle control, allowing for smoother driving in severe off-road conditions.

Pathfi nder’s available All-Mode 4WD system lets you rule muddy marshes, snowy back roads and rock-pitted inclines. By automatically and continuously adjusting the amount of power distributed to each wheel, this system helps improve traction over rough ground and slippery surfaces.

HILL DESCENT CONTROLHILL START ASSIST

And for optimal performance on uneven terrain, Pathfi nder has 4-wheel Limited Slip (ABLS), which helps sense wheelspin on slippery surfaces and automatically brakes the slipping wheel(s) to redirect power to another wheel with traction and keep the momentum going.

For out-of-bounds enthusiasts, we offer the SE Off-road, which endures the off-roads like no other. It features dirt-loving BFGoodrich® Rugged Trail® off-road performance tires, protective skid plates, Rancho® off-road performance shocks, and the hill-friendly technologies of Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist.

When engine braking isn’t enough while driving down a steep grade in low gear, Pathfi nder offers Hill Descent Control on SE off-road models. When activated, the system automatically adjusts speed and adds brake pressure to help keep you moving at a controlled speed.

AGILITY ENDURANCE

While starting up steep hills on SE Off-road models, Hill Start Assist helps keep you from rolling backwards. It applies brake pressure for a few seconds, allowing you enough time to switch from the brake pedal to the accelerator, and get your Pathfi nder smoothly moving uphill again.

STRENGTH CONTROL FLEXIBILITY CONFIDENCEBEAUTY PLUS UTILITY

Flexibility is second nature to Pathfinder. Every seat, including the two seats in the third row and the front passenger seat,* can be folded down individually for a possibility of up to 64 seating configurations. The second- and third-row seats can also be folded down to give you a flat cargo floor. This allows all the flexibility you can imagine for your passengers and your gear.

Pathfi nder is the ultimate combination of premium quality and

rugged utility. For the fi rst time ever, this adventure-loving SUV

is equipped with three rows of seating to carry up to seven

people. Surround yourself and your passengers in soft leather

or durable cloth, available front heated seats, and available rear

temperature controls. You’ll also fi nd this environment useful

when your gear outnumbers your passengers, and you need to

fold down the seats for greater cargo space. The second- and

third-row integrated headrests adjust for passenger comfort and

don’t need to be removed when you’re folding the seats down.

2. Dash storage – Pathfi nder has two storage bins built into the dash to give the driver and front passenger quick and easy access to notepads, snacks, tissues or other loose items.

3. Side seat pocket – This is where you can store pens and maps for easy reach and quick access.

4. Side net – Keep your water jugs and key supplies from rolling around in the back by placing them in the side net.

5. Under-fl oor storage – Don’t sweat the small stuff. Just put it in the under-fl oor storage in the cargo area or in the hidden storage bin located underneath the second-row seat cushions.

6. First-aid kit – Pathfi nder is equipped with an available fi rst-aid kit located in the rear hatch to help with the nicks and scrapes that come after a few days at the campsite.

Pick an address and let the DVD-based Nissan Navigation System help you find it. A 178 mm (7-inch) colour monitor displays your current location on a conventional map or through the patented 3-dimensional Birdview™. Once back in civilization, this system can direct you to the nearest ATM, gas station or restaurant.*

Memory Seats. Now, you and your significantly lucky other can set your own positions for the driver’s seat. The available memory seat system also remembers power pedal placement and power outside mirror locations, and recalls them all with the touch of a button.

* Factory-installed option. Never program while driving. GPS mapping may not be detailed in all areas or reflect current road regulations.

Pathfinder’s available Dual Zone Automatic Climate Control (ACC) allows front passengers to set different temperatures, with all data displayed on the Information Centre.

Standard on Pathfinder is a trip computer that calculates your average fuel consumption, average kilometres per hour, distance to empty, and more.

Entertain your second- and third-row passengers with the available Nissan DVD Entertainment System. It comes with a 178 mm (7-inch) flip-down colour monitor, DVD player, a wireless remote and auxiliary inputs for video game systems or playing home movies on the camcorder. Plus, thanks to the Dual Media Playback feature, rear passengers can use wireless headsets provided with the DVD system to listen to a different audio source than the front passengers.

ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) rapidly pumps the brakes during hard braking, to help keep your wheels from locking up and allow you to steer around the obstacle.

VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL (VDC) is an advanced system designed to help you stay on your steered path. If your vehicle begins to oversteer (fi shtail) or understeer (plow forward), VDC senses it and can reduce engine output and/or apply appropriate brake pressure to specifi c wheels.

ELECTRONIC BRAKE FORCE DISTRIBUTION (EBD) compensates for additional weight in the rear, whether it’s a full house or a full tank of gas, by sending extra force to the rear brakes.

SAFETY BEHIND THE WHEEL.

VDC cannot prevent accidents due to abrupt steering, carelessness, dangerous driving techniques, or any other reason. Always drive safely.

Every Pathfi nder is equipped with active safety systems. These advanced technologies respond to every twist and turn you take, reacting instantly and predictably to help keep you in control every mile of the journey.

4-WHEEL LIMITED SLIP (ABLS) senses wheelspin on slippery surfaces and automatically brakes the slipping wheel(s) to redirect power to another wheel with traction and keep the momentum going.

THREE-POINT SEAT BELTSEvery seat is protected by a 3-point seat belt. Both front seat belts are equipped with pre-tensioners that automatically help tighten the belts when the front airbags deploy, as well as load limiters that give a little when high force is put on the belt.

Beneath the stylish exterior of every Pathfi nder lies an entire set of safety features to help protect you from the unavoidable. Including steel reinforcements, guard beams and advanced airbags that will help safeguard you and your passengers in the event of an accident.

SAFETY BEHIND THE FRAME.

ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINTSActive head restraints actually move up and forward in the event of a rear-end collision, helping reduce whiplash-style injuries to you and your front passenger.

1. Zone Body construction with crumple zones: This helps to absorb crash energy before it reaches the passenger zone.

2. Pillar/roof reinforcements: These are made of high-strength steel and help Pathfi nder surpass Federal Roof Crush Resistance Standards.

3. Hood deformation point: Structural creases allow the hood to buckle at a predetermined point to help protect the passenger zone.

4. Pipe-style steel side-door guard beams: Constructed like a thick-walled hollow pipe for extra strength, these help protect passengers in a side impact.

5. Advanced Airbag System: Pathfi nder’s dual-stage supplemental front airbags* incorporate seat belt sensors and adjust deployment according to seat-belt usage and crash severity.

6. Available driver and front-passenger side-impact supplemental airbags*: They are built into the front seats (not the door), so they’re still in the right place if you change your seat position.

7. Roof-mounted curtain supplemental airbags for side impact and rollover protection: When the sensor detects an impending rollover, the system deploys the available roof-mounted curtain supplemental airbags.* These airbags remain infl ated long enough to help provide front-, second- and third-row enhanced protection in the event of multiple rollovers.

SNUG KIDS® A properly installed child restraint is one of the best ways to keep a child safe. Which is why LATCH – a system that makes compatible child restraints easy to install – is standard on all Pathfinders. In fact, the importance of child safety also led us to create the Snug Kids Child Seat Fit Guide. An industry first, the guide gives invaluable tips on correct installation. Look for it at your nearest dealer or at nissan.ca

CHILD SAFETYWhen the front passenger seat is empty or occupied by a child, a sensor is designed to turn off that airbag. In the second row, Pathfi nder features the LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) for securing compatible child-restraint seats for your adventurer-in-training.

* Please keep in mind that airbags are a supplemental restraint system and must always be used in conjunction with a seat belt. Even with

advanced airbags, a rear-facing child restraint must never be placed in the front-passenger’s seat. In fact, all children 12 and under should ride in the rear seat properly secured in child restraints, booster seats, or seat belts according to their size. Driver and front-passenger side-impact supplemental airbags and roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental airbags for front- and rear-seat outboard occupants head protection are designed to inflate in higher severity side collisions on the side of the vehicle impacted. Please see your owner’s manual for more details. Inflated airbags shown for illustration purposes only. Actual airbags deflate after deployment.
