Pastor's Letter July 2015 The “Life and Liberty Weekend” will be held July 4 th and 5 th , with events sponsored by Bible Baptist Church at the Denver Williams Park in Wilmington on Saturday evening, and at the church all day on Sunday. You can read about the schedule and our special guests “The Old Paths”, and Attorney David Gibbs in this newsletter. Please pray for good weather, and a great outreach opportunity as we celebrate this special holiday for America. As our culture and society continue in a downward spiral, we must not take for granted our religious freedoms and privileges as Americans and as Christians. Attorney Gibbs will be addressing the critical issues facing churches in our country today in his messages. As Bible-believing Christians, we need to stay alert and informed about the eroding of our liberties in this current political climate. This month also sees our first team heading to Honduras for a week-long missions trip. They will be followed by a second team in September. Please pray for travel safety, and for our teams to be effective in helping the missionary on the field and seeing souls won to Christ. We also have two more camps at Chautauqua this month, as well as a Sunday Night Summer Adventure for our kids. The last Sunday night will be one of our after church fellowships where we grill hamburgers and hotdogs after the evening service. These events are great ways to get to know our new families at BBCW, and to stay connected within the congregation. While summer will move quickly over the next few weeks, we are already gearing up for the second half of 2015. The new AWANA year, our Fall Family Day, and World Missions Weekend are just a few of the big things on the fall calendar. We are also starting preparations for a Christmas drama that will be a major undertaking for our choir, orchestra, and drama teams. More information will be shared in the coming weeks, but now is a good time to join these ministries if you are interested in using your talents for this presentation. Our summer chapel service has averaged about 165 each Sunday morning so far. We won’t know the total benefit from it until the end of the summer, but I know that it has allowed many families to not miss church because of sports, travel, or other family events. Thanks to all who are supporting that service at 8:00 AM. Remember, the last chapel service is September 6 th (Labor Day weekend). Our mission trip / vacation to Ireland was wonderful! It is a beautiful place to visit, and there is a great need there for the gospel. We made some great memories as a family, and our hearts were stirred by the tremendous task that missionaries face. Please continue to pray for all our missionaries around the world. They are representing Bible Baptist Church in nearly 40 countries on six different continents. They need our prayers and support! Have a wonderful summer – and I’ll see you in church! Pastor Kelly D. McInerney
