Call to Worship
John saw a multitude from every land and tribe and nation.
Glory and power be to our God forever and ever!
The angels fell on their faces and worshiped the Lord.
Glory and power be to our God forever and ever!
The shepherd will guide the flock to the springs of water,
and wipe away every tear from their eyes.
Glory and power be to our God forever and ever! Amen!
Let us worship God.

Scripture Reading John 10:22-30 (Pew Bible, NT pg. 98)
Call to Confession
Unison Prayer of Confession
God of everlasting life, we confess that we continue in the ways of death.
We see your work in our world and still do not believe in you.
We listen to other leaders and ignore your loving voice.
We think we already know the right answer
and can’t hear you say anything different.
We want you to belong to us, rather than fully give ourselves to you.
Restore us to your flock and fold so that we may believe and receive
eternal and abundant life in you; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(time of silent prayer)
Declaration of Forgiveness
Jesus himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins
we might live for righteousness; by his wounds we have been healed.
For we were going astray like sheep, but now have been returned
to the shepherd and guardian of our souls. (based on 1 Peter 2:24 NRSV)
Hear the good news:
In Jesus Christ we are sought, we are found, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God!

THE WORD
Welcoming the Children
Following Welcoming the Children, age 3 yrs - 3rd Grade, will proceed
downstairs for a Bible lesson. The children will return after the sermon.
Blessing of Children tune - Hymn No. 535, Tallis Canon
Go with them, Lord, and guide their way, through this and every coming day,
That in Your spirit strong and true, their lives may be a gift to You.

Sermon “Hefted to God”
Dr. Dan DeBevoise
*Affirmation of Faith (Psalm 23)
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me;
your rod and your staff -- they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD my whole life long.

Offertory The Lord is My Shepherd (Psalm 23) John Rutter, 1978
Chancel Choir The Lord is my shepherd; therefore can I lack nothing.
He shall feed me in a green pasture and
lead me forth beside the waters of comfort.
He shall convert my soul and bring me forth in the paths of righteousness,
for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.
For thou art with me: thy rod and thy staff comfort me.
Thou shalt prepare a table for me against them that trouble me.
Thou hast anointed my head with oil, and my cup shall be full.
But thy loving kindness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

church security, working with the Orlando Police
Department to review the needs of Park Lake,

Visitation Ministry
Did you know there is a Visitation Ministry at
Park Lake? Did you know there is a "team of
knitters" who make prayer shawls for the
Visitation Team to take to hospitalized members
and those in rehabilitation or are housebound? If
you have yarn left over from a project, or would
like to purchase yarn to be used for this project,
please let Jan Ellis (JanEllisRN@yahoo.com) know
and it will find it's way to the "knitters" and
be greatly appreciated!
New Hymnal Dedications
We are using new hymnals in worship today.
Glory to God is the new Presbyterian hymnal, published in 2013. It contains 853 hymns,
psalms, and songs. About 400 hymns are carried over from the 1990 blue hymnal—
including most of the hymns we sing at Park Lake. There are more than 450 new hymns
that come from older Presbyterian hymnals, other songbooks, and individual composers
and authors. Glory to God includes a complete Psalter of singable Psalms and enough
music for a complete Taizé service. There are liturgical texts to serve as a model for
Reformed worship, and a brief note is included with each hymn, providing information
about its music, theology, or history. Glory to God reflects the diversity of the church,
incorporating many different musical styles: traditional, spirituals, folk, gospel, jazz,
contemporary, and global music are all well-represented. Digital and projection versions
are also available.
You can donate a new hymnal(s) for $20 per hymnal.
Each hymnal donated will include an dedication plate on the front cover with the name
of the person(s) you would like to honor or remember and the person(s) making the
donation.
On the reverse side of this insert you will see a example of the dedication plate.
If you would like to donate a hymnal(s) please fill in the lines with the name(s) of those
being remembered or honored and the name(s) of those making the donation.
Please circle either “In Honor of” or “In Memory of”.
You may place the insert in the collection plate or return it to the church office.
If you are attaching a check as payment, please write in the memo line, “New Hymnal
donation. “
If you would like an old blue hymnal, “The Presbyterian
Hymnal”, they are in the East Transept and available for
you to take.
For more information please contact the church office.
