Registration for the 2015-16 School Year

The early priority registration starts from April 19, 2014 to May 03, 2015 . Regular public registration will start on May 04, 2015. 

The deadline for the early registration is June 7, 2015 and $10 registration fee will be waived.

Full payment must be received by September 20, 2015, the second week of the 2015 fall semester.

Textbook order for next school year

For those classes that have more than 9 students, the textbook orders should be handled by their parent representative. For class has less than 9 students, the textbook order will be handled by the school. Ordersite: www.heritagechinese.com

For Kindergarten Students ( 学前班 ), the orders will be handled by the school. The freshmen will receive their textbooks at the first day of the school and the fees for the textbooks will be collected by the parent representatives.

For those who missed the textbook orders by the class or the school, you should handle book orders yourself at www.heritagechinese.com

第六届作文比赛征稿启事

今年是世界反法西斯战争胜利 70 周年，也是中国抗击日本侵略战争胜利 70 周年。 70 年前，中华民族以伤亡 3600 万同胞的代价为世界反法西斯战争的胜利做出了巨大贡献。为了配合 2015 年“鲁迅青少年文学奖”海外征文活动，光华中文学校将同步举办第六届作文比赛。 本次比赛将围绕“在和平的天空下”这一主题，抒写海外华裔学子的所见、所闻、所感。学校鼓励全校同学积极参加。

作文比赛要求 来稿必须是中文作品，是学生本人新近创作、未曾在公开出版物上发

表过的文章，不得抄袭他人作品。 征文体裁不限，可以是记叙文、散文、诗歌、议论文等，文章题目自

拟，稿件字数以少于一千字以内为宜。 稿件采用电子稿，请注明作者姓名、性别、出生年月、班级、指导教

师等信息。 作文比赛评选及奖励办法：

参赛的稿件将以作者年龄分组，分别由评委会评出一，二，三等奖并颁发获奖证书及奖品。

获奖的作品将在校刊发表并获得《小作家》证书。 为了感谢各位老师对本次征文的支持，学校将对投稿率最高的班

级予以奖励。并在校刊上刊登获奖班级的照片。 截稿时间 : 2015 年 4 月 15 日

证所注班级名额 全部学费须在 5 月 31 日付清，否则 60 美元定金

1. 10% discount for the GHCS students who enrolled the 2013-2014 school year.

2. 10% discount is available for 2nd or more students from the same family (not apply with no. 3 and no. 4 discounts)

3. 10% discount for the students who registers all 6 weeks (not apply with no. 2 discount).

4. 5% discount for returned campers who enrolled GHCS summer program in 2014.

5. 10% discount for payment is received by March 29.

Rules  Each family is responsible for the safety of your child(ren). Group of students

should be accompanied by at least one adult for hiking, fishing and other activities.  No student is allowed to stay alone without attention from parents.

Everyone please respect and do not move any facilities including park-supplied grills, picnic tables in the park, school-supplied game equipment at the designated area, etc…

Park Hours 8:00 am to Sunset. The field trip core time is from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.  We are gathering at pavilion in the yellow highlighted area in the map below. Poster/Sign will be placed at the key intersection and park entrance. Please look for sign of “Guang Hua ( 光华 ) Field Trip”.

All vehicles must park in parking lots. Three parking lots are available, but space is limited because park is open to the public, so carpool is encouraged; Vehicles may be parked temporarily in front of pavilion for drop-off only.

Morrow Pavilion is reserved for all day. Any decorations in pavilion must be removed, trash must be placed in cans provided and floor swept.

Rules  Fires permitted in park-supplied grills. Bring your own charcoal. No

charcoal added 1 hr. prior to departure. Since picnic tables and BBQ grills are limited, you may bring portable BBQ grill, picnic sheet, chairs as needed.  Each class should bring trash bags. Cleaning the area after you is a must. Parent rep/teacher from each class is responsible to coordinate the effort.

Keep out from Theater stage.

Moon bounces, climbing walls, pony rides, and other large play items, helium balloons, piñatas, confetti, silly string, rice, and bird seed are NOT permitted.

Alcoholic beverages are NOT permitted. Glass containers prohibited, and all Montgomery County Rules and Regulations must be followed.

Children 12 yrs old and under do not need fishing license.
