San Luis Rey MissionMission San Luis Rey is the king of the

missions. It is much more than just a run of the mission experience. Besides the beautiful architecture, the mission was the site of a movie back in the 1920’s and also the site for the TV show “Zorro,” filmed in the 1950’s. The mission also contains a large Koi pond off to the side, included among beautiful sculptures, fountains and little streamlets all around.

There’s also a small valley across the street where they used to do laundry and irrigation. The gargoyles are still apparent, and a huge well is there. You can walk down the street to a wonderful bakery with the most incredible pastries and cakes you will ever eat. Also nearby are a cemetery and an excavation site where Native Americans stayed.

Ocean Safety TipsAlways keep an eye on the surf.Large waves can hit the shore without warning. They can knock down both adults and children.

On steep beaches, be wary of backwash.Even normal waves can cause you to lose your footing.

Do not dive head first into the surf.There may be hidden rocks or a shallow bottom.

Know what a rip current is and how to free yourself if caught in one.Stay calm. Don’t fight the current, and swim parallel to the shoreline until you are free of the current.

reSerVAtIOnS Check-In is 2 pm; Check-Out is 11 am.Summer and Summer Holiday deposits and payments are non-refundable, but if you give us at least 60 days notice, your payment will be usable for 1 year. No unused portions of a stay are refunded. Winter daily and weekly reservations require 7 days notice prior to your arrival date, or a 1 night cancellation fee will be applied. Winter month reservations require 30 days notice of cancellation to receive a 95% refund. Winter holiday deposits are non-refundable, but with 14 days notice, your credit will be usable for 1 year.

Summer pArKInGThe fire marshal will not allow any cars to be parked in streets ($1,000 fine). Any vehicle on our property must be registered with the office. All vehicles must display an assigned parking tag at all times and be parked in your assigned space. If your vehicle has been towed, please call NK TOWING at 760-745-3495. All sites but Super Sites accommodate one RV and one car. Super Sites accommodate two. Deluxe and Premium sites, upon availability and room, may have a guest car for $15. We allow two cars and 1 RV maximum per site. Extra Visitors may park on either Morse Street or Pacific Street.

WInter pArKInGThe fire marshal will not allow any cars to be parked in streets ($1,000 fine). The same rules apply at summertime, but sites may have a guest car for less than 4 hours for free. Longer stays or overnight parking is $5.

QuIet hOurSPlease observe quiet hours between 10:30 pm and 7 am.

pOOl AnD SpA9:30 am to 9:30 pm. No glass or alcohol allowed in the pool area. Full coverage swimwear is required for women and men. Children under 14 must be supervised by parent; no children with diapers allowed. Adults-only spa at night.

KIDS AnD rIDInG tOYSnO SKAteBOArDInG. Kids under 7 must be supervised in the rec-room and under 14 years of age in the pool. No motorized riding vehicles are allowed on the property. Lock up all valuables and bikes.

DOGSDogs must be leashed on 6 foot leash at all times, never left unattended, must be picked up after, and are only permitted to “potty” in our pet areas. Dogs showing aggressive behavior or excessive barking may be asked to leave the resort. We do not allow Pit Bulls, Staffordshire Terriers, Doberman Pinschers, German Shepherds, Chow Chows, American Bulldogs, Rottweilers, Shar-Peis, or any other guard dog type breeds. No exceptions.

AntSTo prevent any ant problems, we recommend using baby powder, comet powder or even baking soda. Sprinkle it around everything that touches the ground, including your tires and hoses.

rV’S AnD CAmpInG SIteSNo generators may be run while at Paradise by the Sea. Toy haulers must empty fuel tanks prior to arrival. Truck campers must stay attached to the truck. No tents or sleeping outside your RV. RV site must be kept clean and free of clutter. Only manufactured awnings are permitted. No personal RV or car washing. No RV or car repairs allowed on resort grounds. Subleasing spaces is not allowed; no space rental is transferable to any other party.

AlCOhOl & tOBACCOPlease enjoy beverages on your RV space only. Do not throw your tobacco butts on the ground. This would be grounds for dismissal without a refund.

fIre pItS AnD BBQ’sNo wood fires. No BBQ’s on picnic tables. Only 1 fire log is permitted to burn at a time. Used charcoal may be placed in the approved bin near dog stop #1.

WI-fIWe provide complimentary wireless Internet for our guests through Tengo Internet. Enter your personal code and register to use it.

GOlf CArtSOur property is not large enough for guests to need personal Golf Carts or Golf Cars. If you must use one for Health-Related Reasons, only those with valid state driver’s licenses may operate the Golf Cart. The Speed limit is 5 mph. You may OnlY park on your space. Golf carts are not to be parked by the office, laundry room, pool, restrooms or on the pavement, under any circumstances. Any persons deemed to be driving in an unsafe manner, or not following the Golf Cart rules, will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be welcome to stay here in the future.

lAunDrYThe Laundry Hours are 7:30 am to 9:30 pm. Only towels and bathing suits may be hung on a clothesline.
