Label carries verbal information about the product or the seller.

Labels are of three types:

Brand Label: gives only the brand name alone.

Grade Label: emphasizes the quality standards.

Descriptive Label: gives illustrate objective information

about the use, care, performance and other features of

product.

Enables the producer to give clear instructions about the uses of the product.

Price variations are caused by middleman are avoided.

Manufacturer-buyer relation is established. It encourages producers to make standard

products. Buyers can easily identify the product.

It grades the product. It facilitates the buyers to pay the right price. It helps advertising activity. It gives all needed information to the buyers. Label is the media to popularise the product.

standardisation. It aims mainly popularising the product rather

than giving information to the consumers.
