Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The past year has been a hard one for our parish family and the larger community, both na onally and globally. Beginning with the loss of Fr. Eamon on January 1st, to the con nuing adversi es brought on by the pandemic and numerous natural disasters throughout this country and the world. We have all faced many difficult challenges. Our response is one of hope, love and trust in Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
[1 Thessalonians 5:18] As I reflect on the new year, I can’t help being filled with apprecia on and gra tude for being assigned to Ascension Parish as your pastor. This parish is blessed with amazing people, our parishioners, who con nue to support us with a great spirit of generosity and stewardship of treasure as we navigate through these turbulent mes.
This weekend I’m presen ng our financial report for the calendar year, 2021. The report summarizes the cash receipts and cash disbursements for that period. I am pleased that we were able to con nue to meet the needs of our community, our school, our facili es, our employees and our outreach programs, even as our income has been impacted by the pandemic. Thank you to all who generously donate your gi s and financial resources to support us as we con nue to build up God’s Kingdom.
I trust and pray that the generosity of all parishioners may be rewarded a hundredfold.
God Bless,
Fr. John Bosco Maison
A Message from Fr. John, Pastor

AUTOMATIC GIVING We thank all parishioners who choose to use the automa c method of giving to their Church family. We find more and more people who prefer to give in this way, mostly due to the convenience and accesssibility of op ons. Giving electronically allows us to be faithful and consistent in our giving. We call automa c giving “inten onal giving.” It provides the donor peace of mind that his/her dona ons are accounted for even when traveling away from the parish, while assuring the donee a steady and consistent stream of support. It is a win-win for both par es. Generous sharing of our financial resources is the best and most concrete way to say: “Thank you, Lord, for the material blessings in our lives.” We currently have four methods available for automa c giving. They are: (1) Online giving through the parish website www.ascensioncatholic.net (click on the ‘DONATE’ bu on), or through “My Parish App” available on your smartphone; (2) Automa c debit from your bank account, set up with the Parish Office; (3) Automa c giving through your credit card, set up with the Parish Office (see pg. 7); or (4) Your own arrangement with your bank for automa c payments by check. If you have any ques ons or concerns, please contact Anne Whelan at the Parish Office or through email at [email protected].
