2014 KOMEN RACE FOR THE CUREIn May 2014, employees, family and friends of Rawle & Henderson LLP participated in the Philadelphia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure. The team raised the most money of any participating law firm team, exceeding its goal of $5,000 and raising over $7,700. In 2013 the firm raised over $6,000. Over the last seven years, Rawle & Henderson’s team has raised over $51,000.

With 68 individuals participating on the team, Rawle & Henderson won the “Law Firms for the Fight” race category with the most members on a law firm team.

Rawle & Henderson’s “HENDERSON FOR HIGGINS STRUTS FOR THE SABOS” team honored for the 7th year in a row the firm’s former partner, Ann-Michele Higgins, who lost her struggle with breast cancer in September of 2007. This year Rawle & Henderson lost another member of its family to breast cancer. Nancy J. Sabo, wife of partner Michael G. Sabo, Esq., lost her courageous eight-and-a-half-year fight against breast cancer on January 24, 2014 at the age of 53. Nancy was an active woman who loved sports, music and dancing. She loved the Mummers and the New Year’s Day Parade.

PHILA. BAR ASSOCIATION 5K RUNA team of Rawle & Henderson attorneys, led by team captain John T. Donovan, competed in the 35th Annual Philadelphia Bar Association 5K Run in May 2014. The annual event raised funds for the Philadelphia Support Center for Child Advocates, which offers free legal and social services to abused and neglected children in Philadelphia. Rawle & Henderson attorneys have assisted the Support Center since the center’s founding in 1977. This is the 21st year in a row that the firm sponsored a team in the charity run.

CONSTITUTION PROGRAMScott F. Griffith, a partner in the Philadelphia office, presented a program on the U.S. Constitution to students and teachers from Philadelphia’s Holy Cross Parish School on May 1, 2014. The Constitution Program is presented annually by Rawle & Henderson in partnership with the Women for Greater Philadelphia (website: www.womenforgreaterphiladelphia.org), stewards of Laurel Hill Mansion in East Fairmount Park.

The event was held at Laurel Hill Mansion, the restored summer home of William Rawle (founder of Rawle & Henderson LLP) and the Rawle family on the banks of the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. The mansion is owned and maintained as a historic landmark. This was the fourth annual presentation on the Constitution the firm has made to the Holy Cross Parish School students.

Their group practices primarily in the areas of professional malpractice, including dental and medical malpractice, product liability and commercial litigation. Paul and David have earned reputations as well-respected and excellent trial attorneys.

He has also lectured as a faculty participant for the Hofstra University School of Law/NITA trial advocacy program for 25 years. Paul is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association, Queens County Bar Association and

the New York County Bar Association. He is also a founding member of the New York State Medical Defense Bar Association. He is a recipient of the Hofstra University School of Law Distinguished Alumni Award, OMSNIC Rising Star Award and the Hofstra Law Distinguished Faculty Award.

Paul has been rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell for over 23 years. He is admitted to practice in the courts of the State of New York, as well as the Federal Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
