Xtend Barre required a distinctive, high quality and performance-led flooring for its new pilates studio in London.

Refurbishing an unused office area on the lower ground floor of 49 Marylebone High Street, the studio owners harnessed the expertise of the Amtico sales team, as well as professional flooring contractors Hardcraft Flooring, to

develop a premium design. The final finish utilised planks of Chateau Oak from Amtico’s flagship Signature collection, with the bold details of the wood product sitting proud amongst rich smoky tones which exude strength and sophistication.

In addition, Amtico Carpet tiles were utilised in the entrance and reception areas to provide a vibrant and welcoming environment. Changes in pattern, texture and colour cue were used to shift the functionality and attitude of the space – all while staying connected to the total design.

Inspired by reclaimed wood planks, Hand Scraped is part of the Against The Grain collection. It can be installed in a variety of different laying patterns or combined with the other styles in the collection to achieve a signature installation method.

Signature is our flagship collection of 163 products: 69 Woods, 43 Stones and 51 Abstracts.

This sophisticated collection combines original palettes, distinctive patterns and stunning details. The design-led, high-performance LVT products have a total thickness of 2.5 mm and a 1 mm wear layer. Signature Products also carry a 20 year warranty.

Amtico Carpet collection comprises 11 collections, 22 designs and 106 colourways in 2 easy to install modular sizes.

They offer impactful flooring alongside excellent fade resistance, soil resistance and texture retention. These qualities are bolstered by a specialised bleach resistant technology that resists fade-out bleach spills and splashes. Amtico Carpet tiles are supplied with a 10 year warranty.

To create an authentic and stylish space, the Chateau Oak planks were laid in a standard Stripwood pattern, which proved to be a versatile choice, allowing the flooring a smooth transition between different areas.

The modular carpet tile system provides complex layers of texture and colour, with the pattern enhancing the architecture of the space. Changes in colour, texture and pattern helped to clearly define the interior spaces of the Xtend Barre studios.
