charismatic leader of pre-Independence India .

Childhood Of Netaji

•Born on january 23,1897 in Cuttak in Orissa.• Father Janakinath Bose and mother Prabhavatidevi.• He was a very intelligent and sincere student

Early Life Of Netaji

• passed B.A. in Philosophy in 1918. •He was strongly influenced by swami vivekananand’s teaching.

British Professor Thrashed

In 1916, Subhash reportedly beat and thrashed one of his British teachers E F Otten.

Bose was expelled from the Presidency College and banished from Calcutta university.

Indian Civil Service 1920, Bose passed the Civil Service open examination.

His urge for participating in the freedom movement.

April 1921, Bose resigned from the coveted Indian Civil Service.

Who guided netaji bose?

The vedanta &the bhagwat geeta were the sources of his inspiration for struggle with the british.

Bose had clearly expressed his belief that democracy was the best option for india

He adored Vivekananda as his spiritual Guru.

The jalianwala baug massacre had disturbed him greatly. Went to gandhiji and offered himself to work for the indian national congress. Gandhiji sent him to calcutta to work under deshbandhu chittaranjan das .He was mainly involved in the activities around calcutta. Was arrested on numerous occasion.

He Regard Chittaranjan Das As His Political Guru. He Played A Major Role In Enlightening The Students, Youths And Labors .

He Was Eagerly Waiting To See India, As An Independent, Federal And Republic Nation.

DISPUT IN CONGRESS

He did not belive in Gandhiji’s formula of inviolence.He attacked the congress internal & foreign policy.He was elected as president 2 times ,but then opposed Gandhiji’s ideology Resigned from the post

Started a mass movement against utilizing Indian resources and men for the great war.

He was put under house arrest in Calcutta.

In january 1941, Subhaschandra Bose disappeared from his home .

Reached Germany via Afghanistan.

Working on the maxim that "an enemy's enemy is a friend”.

Germany, where he instituted the Special Bureau for India

He founded the Free India Centre in Berlin, and created the Indian Legion

In germany he met to hitler. The lack of interest shown by Hitler in the cause of Indian independence eventually caused Bose to become disillusioned with Hitler and he decided to leave Germany in 1943

He travelled by the German submarine U-180 around the Cape of Good Hope to Imperial Japan.

This was the only civilian transfer across two submarines of two different navies in World War II

In 1943, bose left for south-east asia and raised the army. The group was later named by bose,as the indian national army (INA).

Provisional government 1616Bose

became commander of the INA &head of the free India provisional government.

The INA included Indian prisoners of war from Singapore Indian civilians.

Why was he a good leader ?

Had a clear goal decided .

Worked for nation’s interest &not his own interest.

Collected all the powers, which guided him to the freedom ,and did not leave the job half done.

Formed his own army.

DISAPPPEARANCEOfficially,bose died in a plan crash over taiwan while flying to tokyo on 18 august 1945.

His body was never recoverd.

Taiwan government refused any such crash in taipei.

MYSTERY OF DEATHBose was posthumously awarded the “Bharat Ratna”award.

Disappearance of bose was a mystery which could not be simplified by the story of his death.
