My Story By Dr Ricky Adams B.D.S Reminiscing on my teen years and remembering that awkward metal smile is a memory that I, and many others, share. Like many adults and teenagers alike, I wanted straighter teeth and, back then, opons were limited. I mean, there was always the opon of cung back my teeth for crowns or veneers even for many adults, this sounds like an extreme measure and for a teenager, simply not an opon. Plan B? Braces! Train tracks were the bane of my teen days. I avoided smiling for two years (well the ‘Jaws’ look certainly isn’t going to win any beauty contests!) – not because I was a ‘typical moody teenager’, but because of those dreaded ‘train tracks’! I didn’t enjoy wearing them, to say the least, and I certainly didn’t miss them when they were gone! Whilst having them gave me the gif of a straight smile, the journey there was a struggle and I almost felt like I sacrificed 2 years of my life to get there. 15 years on and I'm a General and Cosmec Denst at our North London dental pracce in Southgate and I can safely say, I am thankful the train track days are gone! Today it’s all New Denstry. I have so many brilliant treatment opons for my paents which means they don’t have to experience the struggles of the old ‘train tracks’ that I and many others had no opon but to accept as our only hope. Nowadays there are many products and services available for paents to improve their smile but - in terms of straightening teeth and orthodoncs - nothing has revoluonised the dental industry like Invisalign, in my opinion. We’ve been providing Invisalign for our paents as a clear, more harmonious alternave to braces for many years now. The feed back has been overwhelmingly posive, our paents love the product, the way it looks and feels and most of all the results have been amazing. How it works Orthodoncs work by pung pressure on the teeth to move them. If you, or anyone you know, have ever experienced the joy of fixed or 'train track' braces, it’s likely you’ll have heard of ‘having the wires ghtened’. In effect, using a pair of pliers and ghtening the wire to spread pressure over the brackets and onto the teeth, hence moving them. It is about as unpleasant and uncomfortable as it sounds. I can vouch for that! Invisalign is completely different – it’s an American branded product, created as a clear alternave to braces for adults who want a straighter, more beauful smile but without the disadvantages and interference caused by fixed train track braces. Invisalign works by creang a series of clear aligners; the first one is created in the exact posion your teeth are in now, and the last one in the final posion we want the teeth to end up in. There are aligners throughout the process, each one in a posion a step slightly closer to the end result we want to achieve. The paent is in control of changing their aligner, moving on to the next step every two weeks – and this is done in the comfort of the paent’s home. Each aligner places gentle pressure on teeth, moving them into their new posion. It’s that simple! 3d Scanning and digital smile design technology As always, whenever there is something good in the market, there are lots of copy cats who try and reproduce the product in a similar but cheaper way. So, as expected, there are a number of products and services on the market trying to copy Invisalign. But, what none of them have is the Invisalign ClinCheck sofware – which is truly invaluable. Invisalign ClinCheck sofware produces an exact 3D model of your teeth, showing you step-by-step (aligner-by-aligner) the journey your teeth will take from a crooked to a beauful smile. The sofware also gives you the opportunity to review and decide the best result, before going ahead with the fabricaon of your aligners – giving you the smile that you truly want! Paents are offered a free inial assessment, where we will assess each case on an individual basis, explain the Invisalign system, sofware and treatment in more detail and decide if Invisalign is a suitable opon. If we are happy that Invisalign is the right opon, we will assess which Invisalign products are best suited for the paent’s needs. Each inial assessment is followed up with a wrien esmate for treatment and details of available payment plan opons which includes, for the first me, interest free finance. If at this stage you wish to go ahead with the treatment, the next step is the Invisalign Records Appointment*. During this visit the paent will have a full dental examinaon (including any necessary x-rays), facial and dental clinical photos. Moulds will be taken of your teeth and shipped to the Invisalign laboratory where your impressions will be scanned to create a 3D representaon of your teeth. Personal service at its best! From here, we’ll work alongside the Invisalign team to plan your treatment and create a digital smile design for you. You will receive a video of your tailored treatment plan via email, explaining and how long your treatment should take, how we will move the teeth and, most excingly, what they will look like at the end of the process. This gives you the chance to make (as many) changes to your treatment if you wish. At this stage you're sll not obligated to anything and, if you decide Invisalign is not for you, you can walk away. However, if at this stage you realise how Invisalign could benefit you and you want to start treatment, once you have approved your treatment plan, it’s me to get started on your journey to a beauful smile. *The cost of the Records Appointment is £350 - if paents choose to go ahead with any of the Invisalign treatments; this cost will be deducted from the final quoted cost, as a first instalment My Story By Dr Ricky Adams B.D.S Dr Ricky Adams B.D.S • All visits • Full Dental assesment (normal price £100), including all x-rays, colour photographs, new patient dental and facial examination and treatment planning. • Full Invisalign records, including 3D video imaging of your proposed treatment BEFORE you make your final decision! • Professional teeth whitening • Routine dental check-ups for the duration of your invisalign treatment. Today it’s all New Dentistry. I have so many brilliant treatmentoptions for my patients which means they don’t have toexperience the struggles of the old ‘train tracks’ that I andmany others had no option but to accept as our only hope.

Nowadays there are many products and services available forpatients to improve their smile but - in terms of straighteningteeth and orthodontics - nothing has revolutionised thedental industry like Invisalign, in my opinion.

We’ve been providing Invisalign for our patients as a clear, more harmonious alternative to braces for many years now.The feed back has been overwhelmingly positive, our patientslove the product, the way it looks and feels and most of allthe results have been amazing.

How it worksOrthodontics work by putting pressure on the teeth to movethem. If you, or anyone you know, have ever experienced thejoy of fixed or 'train track' braces, it’s likely you’ll have heard of‘having the wires tightened’. In effect, using a pair of pliers andtightening the wire to spread pressure over the brackets andonto the teeth, hence moving them. It is about as unpleasantand uncomfortable as it sounds. Invisalign is completely different – it’s an American brandedproduct, created as a clear alternative to braces for adultswho want a straighter, more beautiful smile but without thedisadvantages and interference caused by fixed train trackbraces.

Invisalign works by creating a series of clear aligners; the firstone is created in the exact position your teeth are in now, andthe last one in the final position we want the teeth to end upin.
