Page 2: Music Magazine Double Page Spreads

Kerrang Magazine - Issue 1272

This double page spread page has three images. Two of them on the right are with in borders and the main one in the middle is fades in to white to the left . Overall the images give the double page spread a dark feel and this connects to the type of bands that are in the images.

The type setting is organised and easy to read. This is because it is on the faded part of the image. The text is in two columns with the titles and subheadings above. All the font is in a san serif font and the headings are in green and bold. This makes it clearer to read. The main title is layered on the middle image, this makes the whole page connect. On the right there is a quote over lapping two of the images, this breaks up the images a bit and makes it look more interesting.

Kerrang Magazine – Issue 1225

This double page spread has one large image. The band are shown in the image as being serious and annoyed. This connects to the pull quote which is framed, layered over the image. The pull quote is in a serif font and ‘break’ is highlighted in a different colour. This makes the quote stand out more and have more meaning to the reader.

The type setting on this double page spread is organised. A section of the two pages contains all of the text on the page. The text is within three vertical columns. All the titles and quotes are in a serif font and are white highlighted in in black. All the questions are in a bold sans serif font and are highlighted in clack but are also in capital letters. All the answers to the questions are in a san serif font and is in a black font against a white background. All of this makes the text clear and easy to read.

Kerrang Magazine – Issue 1242

The image on this double page spread takes up almost two thirds of the two pages. The image of the band is shown through dark sepia effect and through how they look in the image. In the image the band looks serious and dark. I think this gives the band a grunge/rock kind of look.

The type setting of this double page spread is organised and kept to the left page. It is in two columns and the main titles of the article and the sub headings are separated from the main article through a page brake. The colours of the text are similar to the colours of the image – dark green/brown and white. The questions within the text are using a serif font and the titles and answers are in a san serif font. Having different types of font makes the text more clear and easy to read.
