Specifically designed to work within the IP transport environment, Envivio Guru™ is ideally suited to manage multi-screen and traditional broadcast video headends from a single platform. Guru offers a simple and comprehensive interface to control and monitor all headend components delivering video services over various networks simultaneously. Guru monitors video quality for all resolutions and all bit rates in real time without the need for additional equipment. Video headend availability and reliability are maximized by Guru’s automated configuration, backup and restore tools and wide variety of redundancy schemes. A robust management system with integrated, redundant components, Guru can also provide system-generated reports on the activities of both devices and individual operators. With such a comprehensive approach to monitoring and management, it enables broadcasters and network operators to reduce operational costs, accelerate time to market for new devices, and ensure the highest quality of service (QoS) for viewers. Guru Service Scheduling improves control board by enabling the operator to automate key applications at the service level instead of needing to adjust the individual devices. For instance, operators can schedule features such as blackout, logo insertion and live-to- file recording from Guru’s user interface or programmatic APIs by selecting channels or services instead of devices. Optimizing Converged Video Headend ManagementAs traditional broadcast TV, broadband and mobile video services converge, Envivio enables operators to address service availability and service administration with a comprehensive video headend management system. Specifically designed to work within the IP transport environment, Envivio Guru™ is ideally suited to manage multi-screen and traditional broadcast video headends from a single platform.

Continuous Service Operability

Guru offers advanced failover mechanisms for the entire ecosystem. It monitors all devices 24x7 and stores alarms and any other defined filter criteria. The advanced 1+1 or N+M device redundancy mechanisms based on alarm correlation can be displayed graphically. Guru performs automatic backup of video headend configurations for fast restore capabilities in case of a failure in the network, and is based on a highly reliable platform designed for 24/7 operations.

Scales as Services Expand

Extending system capabilities to support more services, screens, or devices in the ecosystem is easy with Guru. Guru nodes can be clustered for larger system deployments and monitored in a single view. A Guru can unite different headends through a network supervisor, and then filter and aggregate the relevant information from all video headends.

Based on the Skyline Dataminer NMS, Guru allows new devices to be added easily, with either a standard or proprietary interface.

Customizable and Flexible

Guru can personalize your ecosystem, adapt the network architecture to meet market needs, and integrate with a broad set of third-party equipment. Guru comes with default ecosystem views, but also the ability to create and customize new ecosystems or views using Visio files.

The intuitive web-based user interface is capable to simultaneously display multiple views. The views are color coded and can quickly identify the operational status of each device.

Notifications and reports are also customizable to generate individualized trends and statistics.

Guru can also add or update any device in the network without compromising the quality of existing services, while new features can be implemented without service interruption.
