Clayton StationIn June 2011, Clayton State University expanded residential housing options with the acquisition of the Clayton Station apartment complex adjacent to campus. Units feature 4 bedrooms, each with private bath, kitchen, living/dining area, and laundry.

The only university in the United States adjacent to both state and national archives, Clayton State offers a Master of Archival Studies degree with an emphasis on the influence of information technology on the creation, preservation, and access to records.

NCR Corporation’s CEO cited Clayton State University as one of two universities with supply chain management degree programs and identified their proximity as a significant factor in the company’s relocation to Georgia.

Addressing critical health care issues, Clayton State graduates more minority nurses than any other nursing school in Georgia, and

the University’s nursing graduates consistently have one of the highest overall

NCLEX/State Board pass rates -- 99.5%.

An updated economic-impact report released in June 2011 confirmed that, even in the midst of an economic downturn, Georgia’s public university system continues to be one of the state’s key economic engines. Together, the 35 institutions of the University System of Georgia (USG) had a $12.6 billion economic impact on the state’s economy during FY10.

For Clayton State University, the economic impact (Output Impact in current dollars) rose from $205.6 million in FY09 to $236.2 million in FY10, an increase of 14.9 percent.

In addition, Clayton State’s Employment Impact (i.e., the number of on-campus and off-campus jobs that exist due to institution-related spending) rose from 1,697 jobs in FY09 to 2,169 jobs in FY10, an increase of 27.8 percent.

The eight institutions of the University System located in the metro Atlanta area accounted for $5.8 billion of the University System’s $12.6 billion total.
