Welcome to the 36th sea-son of the Hyacinth Se-

ries at Moorings Presbyterian Church.

We are excited to offer our first season with the glorious new Fazioli concert grand pi-ano in our sanc-tuary. This stun-ning instrument will be a central feature of three programs. When you hear it, we believe you will agree that this piano has a tonal beauty and dynamic breadth which is unsurpassed.

Virtuoso pianists Alexandra Carlson and Catherine Lan will bring the most lyric and passionate tones of the piano to life. Catherine Lan will be joined by Mary Bowden, one of America’s brilliant trumpet players, and the strings of Chrysalis Chamber Players.

Naming the pipe organ as “The King of Instruments” has often been credited to Mozart, and who can disagree? The breadth of tone, from delicate flutes and strings to bold trumpets and shimmering mixtures, creates

a sonic cornucopia which feeds the soul and stimulates the sens-es.

We are thrilled to present organist Monica Czausz to the greater Naples community. The Sterritte Family Organ will also be featured in the Many Moor-ings Organists program which concludes the Hyacinth Series. This program is a unique op-portunity to hear and enjoy the talents of eight organists who are a regular part of our church family.

The beauty and warmth of the hu-

man voice is fea-tured in two choral programs, both tak-ing place in March.

The first is a morn-ing worship service,

with the MPC Chan-cel Choir, Soloists, and members of

the Naples Philhar-monic on March 11.

The following week, we are happy to pres-

ent the Chamber Choir of Florida Gulf Coast

University, with Dr. Trent Brown conducting.

We can’t wait to see you at our first program in November!

Welcome to the 2017-18 Hyacinth Series! I pray that God will bless all the musicians who are involved in this year’s performances, and that all of you will feel a greater connection to Him through these artistic of-ferings. The ultimate goal of our music programs at Moorings is for our Lord to be glorified in our worship services and in many other settings. Indeed, this series helps us accomplish that goal through the participation of many in Naples and from around the world.

If you have never been in our sanctuary, it is a beautiful place to experience the presence of God. Please consider joining us on Sun-day mornings for worship. Two services are held each Sunday, at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. On Christmas Eve, there are special candlelight ser-vices at 5 and 8 p.m., and for Holy Week we hold special services on Maundy Thursday and Easter Sunday. We also host family meals each Wednesday, offer a state-certified preschool for children, and other family-friendly events year-round.

Yours in Christ,Doug LearnedSenior Pastor

Chrysalis Chamber Players

Now in their fifth season, the Chrysalis Chamber Players are committed to performing a kaleidoscope of high caliber chamber music which audiences find to be consistently appealing and thorough-ly engaging. One of America’s leading young concert organists, Monica Czausz is recognized nationally as one of the top 20 organists under age 30. The Tracker magazine of the Organ Historical Society heralds her thrilling musician-ship: “Miss Czausz conveyed skill, confidence, color, mel-ody, and energy, and captured the audience with the very first notes.”

The pipe organ was made possible by a

generous gift of Marjorie Sterritte and family.

The 3,657 pipes, which make up the 49 stops (63 ranks, or sets, of pipes) produce a col-

orful and broad tonal palette which progress-es seamlessly from the

delicate Flauto Dolce through shimmering

mixtures to the robust and brilliant Trompette

Harmonique and Tromba.
