The Real Fall of Mohenjo-Daro

Page 2: Mohenjo Daro

Once upon a time, there was the King of Mohenjo-Daro, King Shadashiv. King Shadashiv was married to Queen Angana. The

King was a priest king and was a very religious man. The King and Queen had 5 children, four lovely, beautiful girls, and one boy. The

boy was the youngest of them all and his name was Mahamati. The girls were named Ekaparnika, Ruchita, Vallabha, and Lona.

The family was very close and Mohenjo-Daro was a very successful town, inspired by the early cultures of India.

As King Shadashiv was on his death bed, it was time to turn over the throne. In their culture, it is perfectly normal for the heir to be the first son.

Since their first son, Mahamati, was the youngest but still the only boy, he was the one to inherit the throne. The daughters of Shadashiv was not happy

with it, however.

During the first three months of his rule, he was doing great! Mohenjo-Daro was still a successful village and all was well. However, Ekaparnika, the eldest daughter, was not satisfied with his rule. While the King was bathing in his pool in the back of his castle, Ekaparnika snuck up

behind him and slit his throat. Nobody ever found out what had happened to him and considered it a suicide.

The three other daughters never suspected Ekaparnika of killing their brother because she was so beautiful

and kind. Since they were clueless to their surroundings, Ekaparnika took advantage of the

situation and killed all three of her younger sisters by burning them in her fireplace. After Ekaparnika’s family was out of her way, she took control of Mohenjo-Daro

and made everybody a slave.

Pretty soon after the slaves started working, people started to get fed up with the way they were being treated. Most people ran away from the village. The people who stayed, made a plan to end the life of

their horrible, evil queen.

So, one morning a group of angry townspeople invaded her castle. They went into her bedroom

while she was sleeping and chopped her limbs off one by one with saws. After she was gone, the

people then created a democracy in their village. From then on, everything was a success until other

countries invaded and took over.
