SPECIFICATION

Based on a DAF LF45 chassis cab, the vehicle specifications demanded some major innovations but our Design and Engineering departments rose to the challenge to create an outstanding example of a multifunction, mobile educational facility. The conversion cleverly allows access to the saloon from the cab whilst retaining access to the engine via a tilting cab. User access is well-provided for with twin sliding doors at the side, together with a step lift which transforms from regular stepped entry into a wheelchair access lift. Power for the library’s facilities is supplied by a diesel-powered generator mounted beneath the vehicle, with an additional four auxiliary batteries which power the electrics. Storage is provided in the form of two exterior lockers which are accessible from the rear. The interior of the library is designed for ease of use and practicality, with shelves and desking for laptops and books, which can be enjoyed in comfort thanks to the two air conditioning units, two Flettner vents and two opening 3-way vents.

Already all our vehicles are Euro 5 compliant.

Irisbus Iveco The 50C model has a 3.7m wheelbase (up to 16 seats or 5 wheelchairs) and a 4.35m (up to 16 seats or 7 wheelchairs). The 65C model has a 4.35m (up to 22 seats or 7 wheelchairs) or 4.75m (up to 26 seats or 7 wheelchairs).

Mercedes Sprinter The Sprinter can accommodate up to 16 seats or up to 6 wheelchairs on a medium or long wheel base chassis.

Fiat Ducato The Fiat Single Axle can offer up to 14 seats or up to 4 wheelchairs. The Tandem Axle can accommodate 16 seats or 5 wheelchairs.

Library Vehicle This vehicle has heating which works independently of the engine; it has air conditioning; and it has a colour-coded LED lighting system which helps borrowers find the right library section.
