Trimester One Mid-Point: Tuesday, October 18th is the midpoint of Trimester One. Please plan to log onto the student portal to check your child’s progress this term. If you need assistance with log on information please contact your child’s guidance counselor.

Parent Conferences: Parent conferences will be held on Thursday, November 3rd from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. The on-line sign up for time slots will open for all parents beginning on Thursday, October 27th at 7:00 p.m. You will receive an email regarding parent conferences with the sign up link for scheduling these appointments. Check your inbox on Thursday, October 27th at 7:00 p.m. for the sign up link. In an attempt to allow parents of struggling students an opportunity to meet their child’s teachers, any student that has a C- or below may contact their child’s guidance counselor on October 25th, October 26th or October 27th from 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. You will be allowed to pre-register to meet with a teacher in any of the courses where your child has a C- or below. To meet with a teacher where your child has above a C- , you will need to access the on-line public sign-up beginning at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, October 27. Sign-ups will be available to access until Tuesday morning, November 1st at 8:00 a.m.

There are a limited number of slots and they fill up quickly. However, please know if you are unable to get a time slot on conference day you may always e-mail a teacher directly or contact your child’s guidance counselor and he/she can speak with you about other available options.

Yearbook Sales The 2016-2017 Middle School Yearbook will be on sale for $31.00 starting Monday, October 17 through October 21, 2016. A separate email was sent out regarding online purchasing. Please be sure to have your child’s homeroom teacher and homeroom number available as this information in needed in the purchasing process.

This will be your ONLY opportunity to buy a yearbook this year so don't miss out! Yearbooks will be distributed in June 2017. If you have any questions, please contact Yvonne Malinowski, yearbook advisor at [email protected]. Thank you for your support of the 2017 Yearbook!

Math Team Congratulations Masco Math Team for a great win at the first math meet of the season! This was a very challenging meet with lots of tricky math and our team rose to the occasion wonderfully! The team finished with a perfect score in the team round and won the meet by a large margin. An excellent start to the year! High scorers were: Justin Crosby, who won the top score at the meet. Close behind were: Eric Malarczyk, Ainsley Novack, Jake Rabold, Corin Canada-Hunt and Karina Patel. Well done, Masco Mathletes!

Masco Millions: Our school goal this year for Masco Million is to read collectively 1,000,065 pages. After the amazing kickoff, this week’s Masco Million totals are reflective of the teams whose students are entering all pages they read. Congratulations to all teams for a great start! Please remember to post the page numbers students are reading for class work on your board and encourage students/staff to enter their independent reading. These figures represent the numbers logged in by 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016.

Masco Excels See the above calendar as a reminder of the day your child’s activity will run. It is important that students are picked up at 4:00 p.m. A staff member will wait until students participating in Excels are picked up or a note is sent in allowing the student to walk or ride their bikes home. As such, any student that is repeatedly not picked up by 4:15 p.m. may not be able to continue to participate in their activity.

Masco Youth Basketball Announces Travel Basketball Tryout Dates and Times

All Try-outs are held at the Masco Fieldhouse. Attendance at one session is required; attendance at both sessions is highly recommended. Wear sneakers + a t-shirt; bring water + a ball.

Tribal Boys Select Tryouts

Tribal Boys Select tryouts will be held on Monday October 17th and Monday October 24th this year at Harmer Field at Pyebrook. Boys Select is for boys in grades 5- 8.
