The nordicway of life

Broste Copenhagen has teamed up with the Danish furniture brand , Ox Design.Ox Design has a tradition of producing exciting furniture in steel and high quality, Argentine vegetable tanned leather. Influenced by each of the designer’s experience and vision, these raw materials are introduced to the collection, creating modern pieces.The two design forces will create a small and exclusive collection of unique products to be launched in the coming season. The first launch will be a leather and steel DAY BED.

OX DESIGN COLLABORATION

These skins are from harp seals or ringed seals, which are the most common seal species in the waters around Greenland. Sealskins are by-products from the meat industry. The local inhabitants hunt the seals either from their boats of from dog sleighs in the traditional hunting style. According to the Inuit agreement, sealskin imports from Greenland are authorised and the seal hunt and sale of sealskins create employment and ensures a balanced seal stock.
