The town of Princeton rallied togeth-er and won the title of GamesTown2010, announced yesterday by thePremier. Dawson Creek and Kamloopswere the silver and bronze GamesTown2010 finalists. With less than 3,000 peo-ple, Princeton emerged ahead of 123other communities that submittedonline entries into GamesTown.Princeton's showing earned them a$100,000 cash award to be put towardupgrading a local healthy living or sport
facility, 5 pairs of Olympic tickets & 5pairs of Paralympic tickets.
Domestic compostingAt Tuesdays meeting, City Council
approved Sunshine Valley Good EarthCo.'s request to dedicate 400 sq. ft. onairport lands to develop a site for greenwaste. Parties will meet to determinethe most appropriate location, and thenresidents will be able to drop off yardwaste which will be incorporated intoGood Earth's compost.
Council also approved $20,000 to beincorporated into the 2010 budget toinstall a buried water storage tank sys-tem at the bio-solids composting facility.
And they approved a pilot project toincorporate coffee grounds in the com-
post. Its a joint venture with GoodEarth, TNRD & Tim Hortons. The Citywill pick up and transport coffeegrounds from Tim Hortons weekly to beincorporated in the compost, divertingapprox. 1 ton per week from the landfill.

Increased flexibility and knowl-edge to adapt to changing climatic con-ditions in the watershed; and
