About the College Gayatri Vidya Parishad (GVP) has been established

in 1988 as an educational trust by a group of

eminent educationists, academicians, industrialists

and those with a touch of human values to

empower the young generation with a high quality

technical education. The Engineering education by

the GVP Society was first initiated by establishing an

Engineering College in the year 1996 with the divine

blessings of Sadguru Sri K. Sivananda Murthy garu.

Prof. P.S. Rao, former Professor& Dean of Industrial

Consultancy and Sponsored Research, IIT Madras, a

renowned Structural Engineering Consultant in the

country, was the founder Principal and it is initially

started with four different branches in B.Tech

program with an initial intake of 200. Now the

college is functioning with 7 different branches in

B.Tech program and 12 PG (11 M.Tech + MCA)

programs with a total intake of 1098 students and

has been accredited by NBA of AICTE, NAAC with 'A'

grade with a CGPA of 3.47/4.00 Autonomous Status

recommended by UGC and conferred by JNTU-K in

the year 2009 and also ranked 14 by NPIU among

the col leges applied al l over India for

implementation of sub component 1.2 of TEQIP - II.

An MOU signed with Govt. of Andhra Pradesh in this

regard. 30 faculty are recognized by JNTUK as

Research Supervisors.

Government of India is all set to execute the 12th five Year plan (2012-17) and targeting a growth rate around 9 %. In this context, IT Industry and Higher Educational Institutes in India are at a critical juncture in terms of exploring available opportunities, facing global economic challenges, improving student's employability index, meeting student's aspirations and building sustainable institutions.

In response to this national cause, GVP College of Engineering(Autonomous) in collaboration with IBM is conducting a symposium with well-respected information technology industry veterans & influencers on “The future of Indian IT Industry 2013-2020 - Meeting the demand of Industry by Academia”. Major focus of this event is to discuss latest IT trends, expectations of the industry from young graduates, shaping the career of budding engineers to cater the future IT needs and technology vision for the institutions.

We wish to project a direction to Higher Education Institutes from IT leaders through this event.

Shri. Vijayanand Vadrevu Head – IT Global Services Delivery, Novartis.

Vijayanand Vadrevu is Global Head for IT Services of Novarits. Prior to this, Vijayanand was Chief Strategy Officer, Mahindra Satyam, a global

consulting and IT services provider. As a CSO & Senior Vice President , Strategic

Initiatives, he was assisting the CEO, in providing leadership on 'strategic initiatives' to

the company and would play a key role in scripting the growth plans of the

organization.

Vijanand has a vast experience in IT services industry with over 17 years with Wipro

Technologies. He was working as Vice President and Head for Life Sciences Vertical

solutions, responsible for Strategy, Sales and Delivery and was instrumental in

shaping it as one of the fastest growing Verticals.

He holds a Masters degree in Computer Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and has spent

more than six years in the U.S. in a number of client facing and practice building roles.

Shri. Winston S.K. AdamsAsst. Vice President - Corporate AffairsPhoenix IT Solutions Ltd.

Mr. Winston Adams is AVP – Corporate Affairs at Phoenix IT Solutions Limited,

Visakhapatnam. He holds a Bachelor degree in Commerce, a Diploma in Computer

Management and has done his MBA from RCM, Bhubaneswar. He has 20 years of

experience in Sales and Marketing, Human Resource Management, General

Administration, Process Management and Operations.

Prior to taking charge of Corporate Affairs Mr.Winston was heading Operations at

Phoenix IT Solutions and has been instrumental in fostering technological

partnerships with various MNC's across the globe. He has initiated for getting the

prestigious IBM Beacon Award 2012 for Smarter Industry: Best Industry Solutions for

Energy and Utilities and the ITsAP Best IT Product Award 2012. He feels sky is the limit

if we apply things right.

He is a managing committee member of VITA, an avid Cricket lover, he loves to spend

time with his family and reading books.

Shri. Lawrence Mohan RajRegional Manager – South & WestIBM Academic Initiative

Mr. Lawrence Mohanraj is Regional Manager - South & West, IBM Academic Initiative

at IBM India. In this role, his mandate is to create various industry-institution bridging

initiatives across various engineering colleges in South and West regions.

Prior to this, He was DGM, Consulting Services, IBM India. In last 29 years of his IT

experience, Lawrence worked on various areas like product management, solutions

and services in IT, software training, building a pool of IBM Skills & Capabilities from

the students of Engineering Colleges & Universities to make them that much more

Industry-ready and employable.

Dr. A.L. Rao President - Sri Sri UniversityBoard Member - Trianz ConsultingFormer COO - Wipro Ltd.

Dr. A.L.Rao is President of Sri Sri University Bhubaneswar, Orissa and board member

Trianz consulting. Prior to this, he was working as Chief Operating Officer of Wipro Ltd.

Dr. A. L. Rao joined Wipro's Information Technology business as a founder member in

1980 and contributed significantly towards building a R&D team. As Head of R&D, he

spearheaded the development and launch of Wipro range of computers in the Indian

market. From 1993 to 1996, he worked as Vice President (Technical) at Wipro Systems

he was instrumental in seeding and growing a number of business practices from

scratch. Testing Services, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and e-Enabling are

some of them. As Group Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Wipro from

1996-1999, he implemented ISO 9000 compliant quality processes across the

Software Divisions of Infotech Group. He has also driven the SEI CMM initiative

enabling Wipro to become the first SEI CMM Level 5 Software Services Company in the

world.

In Oct 2000, Dr. Rao took over the leadership of Telecom and Internetworking

Solutions Division and steered the business through multifold growth to its present

preeminent position. From June 2005 to September 2008 he worked as the Chief

Operating Officer, with the responsibility for Product Engineering business(about one

Billion Dollar revenues), CIO & CTO functions,Admin & Facilities and Japan & China

Geographies sales & Operations.

Prior to Wipro, he worked in Electronic Corporation of India Ltd. from 1973 - 1980 and

was associated with the development of Operating Systems and Compilers for ECIL

computers. Dr. Rao has delivered the keynote speech at the 2nd World Congress on

Software Quality in Japan in 2000. He has been elected a Fellow of the Indian National

Academy of Engineering for distinguished contribution to Computer Science &

Engineering. Dr. Rao did his MSc. and PhD from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam,

India.

Shri. Subrahmanyam (Subbu) VempatiFounder , IndivereinFormer Corporate & World Wide VP, Hewlett-Packard.

CEO

Subbu Vempati is the Founder and CEO of Indiverein. Indiverein focuses on helping

promising companies cross the proverbial growth chasm.

Prior to founding Indiverein, Subbu was a Corporate and worldwide VP in Hewlett-

Packard managing a global Alliances business of about $8B. Prior to that, at HP,

Subbu had managed their largest product team, and addressed emerging markets

enabling a billion dollar business. Subbu had championed and led establishing of

HP Labs in India, and co-led the establishment of HP Software Centre in China.

Subbu is a Harvard alumnus. He is an engineering graduate of the Regional

Engineering College, University of Madras. His interest areas are growth,

entrepreneurship and innovation-oriented work, and innovative business models.

Shri. Kalyan Banerjee Co - founder & Senior Vice President, Mind TreePro - Vice Chancellor, Centurion University.

Kalyan Banerjee is co-founder and head of Learning at MindTree. Kalyan's

responsibilities include Leadership coaching and teaching Systematic Innovation at

MindTree. He is also Pro Vice Chancellor, Centurion University, Bhubaneswar. As a Pro

Vice Chancellor, he oversees strategic initiatives at Centurion University and

responsible for making teaching more effective. Currently he is on sabbatical leave at

Mindtree. He is actively involved in corporate education from 1994.

As part of MindTree, Kalyan's first responsibilities included setting up its Knowledge

Management function, and later the Culture and Competence Initiative. Kalyan was

instrumental in defining a learning culture, introducing communities to foster a learn

and share ecosystem, and building programs for holistic learning. The next five years,

Kalyan worked for MindTree's R&D Services business.

As part of MindTree's R&D Services Business, Kalyan has headed its Technology

Practices, the Communications Group and the Consumer Appliances group at

different times.

Kalyan is interested in teaching, and in academic interactions. His current interests lie

in systematic innovation and problem solving, mentoring, and leadership coaching.

He likes to explore new ways of teaching that make it fun and attractive for the learner.

“Effective Thinking”, and “Appreciating Conflicts” are two of his favorite topics for

coaching. Conceiving practical courses of industry relevance, and bridging the gap

between industry and academics are his passion. He mentors teachers & students and

loves to teach “core programming” to the enthusiastic students. Kalyan believes in

multi-dimensional and holistic growth of the individual as a responsible part of

society.

Prior to MindTree, Kalyan worked in Wipro's R&D for thirteen years. Kalyan's technical

career was in operating systems spanning different flavours of UNIX kernel. He worked

in Wipro's best-selling UNIX systems in the '80s and early '90s, and later as a UNIX

expert for clients like Intel, Univel, and Tandem. Kalyan has received awards for best

faculty, for his papers on conflicts and in innovation.

He graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi and has a Masters in computer

science from IIT Kanpur.

Shri. Debasis Bandyopadhyay Global Co-Innovation Network Tata Consultancy Services.

Head –

Debasis Bandyopadhyay joined TCS in the late eighties and since then has taken

initiative in building many business around new technologies for TCS. He took charge

of the TCS infrastructure and gave it the current shape to accommodate a fast growing

organization. Debasis has always been a forerunner in nurturing emerging

technologies and creating new market space for TCS business.

He started his career in Indian Explosive Limited (IEL), Kanpur, India a sister concern of

Imperial Chemical Industry, Bellingham, UK as an Instrumentation Engineer and then

joined M.N. Dastur & Co. (P) Ltd. an engineering consulting organization in Kolkata,

He is instrumental in tracking emerging technologies for TCS business. He initiated

many new practices in TCS around emerging technologies. Currently as a Vice

President of the organization he leads Co-Innovation Network (COIN), a collaborative

research initiative in TCS CTO organization A Bachelor of Technology in Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering from

Jadavpur University in 1977 and Bachelor of Science in Physics, Debasis has been an

active member of the TCS family since last 25 years and is still driving to a greater

thresholds of achievements.
