the GVP Society was first initiated by establishing an
Engineering College in the year 1996 with the divine
blessings of Sadguru Sri K. Sivananda Murthy garu.
Prof. P.S. Rao, former Professor& Dean of Industrial
Consultancy and Sponsored Research, IIT Madras, a
renowned Structural Engineering Consultant in the
country, was the founder Principal and it is initially
started with four different branches in B.Tech
program with an initial intake of 200. Now the
college is functioning with 7 different branches in
B.Tech program and 12 PG (11 M.Tech + MCA)
programs with a total intake of 1098 students and
has been accredited by NBA of AICTE, NAAC with 'A'
grade with a CGPA of 3.47/4.00 Autonomous Status
recommended by UGC and conferred by JNTU-K in
the year 2009 and also ranked 14 by NPIU among
the col leges applied al l over India for
implementation of sub component 1.2 of TEQIP - II.
An MOU signed with Govt. of Andhra Pradesh in this
regard. 30 faculty are recognized by JNTUK as
Research Supervisors.
Government of India is all set to execute the 12th five Year plan (2012-17) and targeting a growth rate around 9 %. In this context, IT Industry and Higher Educational Institutes in India are at a critical juncture in terms of exploring available opportunities, facing global economic challenges, improving student's employability index, meeting student's aspirations and building sustainable institutions.
In response to this national cause, GVP College of Engineering(Autonomous) in collaboration with IBM is conducting a symposium with well-respected information technology industry veterans & influencers on “The future of Indian IT Industry 2013-2020 - Meeting the demand of Industry by Academia”. Major focus of this event is to discuss latest IT trends, expectations of the industry from young graduates, shaping the career of budding engineers to cater the future IT needs and technology vision for the institutions.
We wish to project a direction to Higher Education Institutes from IT leaders through this event.
