σ = 50 N/mm2

Standardisation The cable types listed in this brochure comply with the requirements of theDIN VDE 0276, 620 standard.Cables according to the corresponding international standard IEC 60502-2 on request.
Abbreviations The meanings for the abbreviations are also specified in DIN VDE 0276-620.for cable types Reading from left to right, the abbreviations for the cable types denote the most important
elements of the cable's construction from inside (conductor) to outside.cable types
N Standard typeA Aluminium conductor(a copper conductor is not specified in the type designation.)2X Insulation made of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE)S Screen made of copperY Outer sheath made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), red2Y Outer sheath made of polyethylene (PE), black(F)2Y Longitudinally waterproof with PE outer sheath(FL)2Y Longitudinally and transversely waterproof with Al/PE laminated sheath
Conductor All conductors of the cable types listed conform to DIN VDE 0276-620 in terms ofconstruction construction and properties
RM Circular conductor, strandedRE Circular conductor, solid
General guide- The specifications laid down in DIN VDE 0276-620 apply:lines for use Bending radii:
For dimensioning, in the case of single-core cables, the guideline value of 15 · DA (DA = outer diameter) and in the case of stranded single-core cables the guideline value of 15 · DV
(DV = stranding diameter) should be taken as a minimum. In the case of a single bend, e.g.before sealing ends, the bending radii can be reduced by half at most, if professionalprocessing (warming up to 30°C, bending over a template) is assured.
Tensile forces:With a pulling eye on the conductors, or a cable grip on the cables, the permissible tensile force is P = S · σ where S is the conductor's cross-sectional area in mm
2and
σ the permissible tensile stress: σ = 50 N/mm
2for cables with copper conductors
σ = 30 N/mm2
for cables with aluminium conductorsWhen three single-core cables are being laid simultaneously with one shared cable grip,the following applies: The calculation of the pulling force shall be based ona. three cables in the case of stranded single-core cables, andb. two cables in the case of three unstranded single-core cables
Cables in conduits:The inner diameters of ducts and conduits must be at least 1.5 times the cable's diameteror the stranding diameter. If cables in an alternating-current system are being laid throughsteel conduits, all the cables belonging to a system must be led through the conduit.When cables are laid in conduits, the current-carrying capacity should be reduced by a factor of 0.85, if a calculation appears too elaborate.
Laying temperatures:The lowest permissible temperature for cable laying and accessory installation for XLPE-insulated cables is:-5°C for cables with a PVC outer sheath-20°C for cables with a PE outer sheathThese temperatures apply to the cable itself, and not for its surroundings; if the cables areat a lower temperature, they must be warmed up.
Otherwise, the general guidelines for the use of cables for power current systemsand the supplementary instructions in conformity with DIN VDE 0276-620 shall apply.
